With the way the portal works today for QBs, it seems imperative for guys to get playing time as underclassmen. They can’t risk sitting behind a starter for multiple years waiting their turn only for their team to pull a OB out of the portal to play over them. Go where you can prove yourself...

You’re right. He gained weight due to injury at the start of fall camp and wasn’t able to lose it.

I think there was more to it than this take. He made some really good plays but he was far too inconsistent and made several boneheaded plays. Also, remember that Tanner Morgan was his QB and Tanner was good enough to get the ball to Bateman and Johnson.
