    Coach Fleck- Heavy

What's the point even of making $5 million or whatever obscene salary coaches earn these days if you're not indulging?

Matt Ruhle said the loud stadiums at Minnesota and Colorado to start last season basically took him a bit by surprise.

Sports writer asks random, dumb question. Coach gives random, off the cuff answer. News is born.

STrib: Caitlin Clark's Former AAU Club Now Has Dominant Minnesota Players

It's really not a good sign that Minnesota players feel the need to drive many hours to a smaller state in search of better competition.

B10 Coaches talk anonymously about other B10 Coaches.

I've always been pretty sure that this "coaches talking anonymously" feature has been made up. What's in it for the coaches?

Gopher Basketball Portal Money - $1 Million

It seems like the better strategy is to decide say, 2027, is going to be the year we're good. Raise a bunch of money and spend none of it, then deploy it all in the transfer portal for the 2027 season. Win the Big Ten and go to the Final Four. Then do it all over again. Pro GMs use this...

2023-2024 College Basketball Coaches Hired/Fired Thread

I'm not making any predictions or saying it's a bad hire. I'm just thinking of how Minnesota fans typically would react to hiring a coach without any NCAA wins...and then thinking about Kentucky as a program. I think Hurley plus Kentucky would've been too much A-hole factor combined for one...

Athlon: Are players leaving Wisconsin, Iowa State and Marquette like they are Minnesota?

I literally say it in my post? Major conference state schools in major cities with professional sports competition without a storied basketball history... If you don't agree with that, that's fine. I don't argue on the internet anymore.

Athlon: Are players leaving Wisconsin, Iowa State and Marquette like they are Minnesota?

I don't think any of those 3 schools are really comps outside of geography. But who are our comps? Major conference state schools in major cities with professional sports competition without a storied basketball history (i.e. UCLA): I get Arizona State, Washington, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh...

Oklahoma AD has gone crazy, wants an off campus basketball arena / facilities ... with a $1B entertainment district development ...

Yes, but did you read the article? The OU president said if the Norman City Council doesn't approve the TIF measure then they'll threaten to move the teams to another city.
