I think the picture of Barry Bonds is in the book for this one.

McCarthy is going to struggle, especially early. That doesn't mean he won't be good. There are people here jumping down his throat already, which is absurd.

Wow, Pohlad Family no longer selling team, will remain owners.

They're hoping the lockout will benefit owners, as well as a new national media deal, so they can try selling again for more in a couple years.

If he grows another couple inches, what defenseman will be able to stop him let alone move him from the front of the net? He's already a big kid.

Let's see what happens when Darrisaw and Fries get going. I have a feeling the offense will start the year very slowly and everyone will panic. Then' the offense will start to click the 2nd half of the season. They'll be a borderline playoff team, but if they get in, they'll be dangerous...

    Blake Wheeler retires

Knies' chance depends on the line he'll play on in the next 2-3 years in Toronto. He could be like Marner and get a ton of points by being next to the right guts. Otherwise, I agree. Cooley has a much better chance for the reasons you said.

    Blake Wheeler retires

Same. I thought Kessel would go one more season to hit it. Blake needed 1 or 2 more healthy seasons, but maybe he knew hid game started to slip to the point where it wasn't attainable. Either way, great career. The best shots at 1,000 now are Cooley and Knies.
