    Yeah, just ask George Constanza.

Same line as Missouri. Hope this one goes much better.

Will Fleck learn from watching Cignetti's aggressive play calls and creativity?

Yeah, Fleck's model is more like Ferentz which makes some sense when you are 1-8 against a particular coach. We play Indiana relatively rarely so whatever dominance they may achieve during Cignetti's tenure doesn't hurt as much.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT ILLINOIS IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Agreed. He was really good in the MVC tournament championship too as I recall. I certainly don't have a problem with him coming here if Niko wants him. Since we don't need a lot of transfers, I think we might be able to do better but this player and coach do have a lot a familiarity with each...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT ILLINOIS IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Have you seen his numbers? If the kid has pro aspirations, his current stint at UNC has done nothing to further those. Yeah, he's played a fair amount of minutes (5th on the team) but his numbers are bad. Player Efficiency Rating is 7.1 (for comparison, Shinholster's is 9.0). True Shooting...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT ILLINOIS IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Yeah, it is more likely to get worse than better as the season progresses. It's not anyone's fault but the coaches need to avoid anyone in the future with a hint of a lingering injury like the plague.

Grove has become good at putting himself in position to score from Reynold's feeds. I've been impressed by Grove's quick reflexes and foot speed.

Yeah, I agree with the defense and ball handling. He's a decent passer too. These league games are just so tight for the Gophers that he's probably reluctant to risk missing shots.

    Next year's scholarships

In fairness, he's played 73 minutes in the 6 conference games, scored a total of 7 points, and is 3 for 11 from the field with no free throw attempts in those games. We lose a lot on offence when he's come into the games lately. He seems like he's afraid to shoot or drive to the bucket. He's...

"Niko is maxing out his talent this year. Everybody in the CBB landscape sees this." Agreed but I hope he isn't having to max out his talent in order to barely keep his team's head above water next season too. "I really think what he did with Cade Tyson could open up the floodgates this...

    Next year's scholarships

Here's my problem with that. We may not have all that many scholarships to give to portal transfers and any one given to a "let's just keep him and see what happens" kind of player will reduce whatever we have to offer active portal players with high potential. And we need one or two with high...

    Next year's scholarships

Yes, I'm guessing he did but I'm getting pretty sick of our history of rehab projects. Both Fox and Ihnen were on the roster for two years without playing a single minute. Last year we had Cochran who didn't play at all but seems to be playing just fine for Rhode Island. Now we have Vaihola...

    Next year's scholarships

Yes, I would say that Turner "isn't" and Omot shouldn't be. Of course, Chance Stephens shouldn't be either. #1 need is a scorer. Could be but doesn't have to be forward. They could play a three-guard lineup.. We're losing our top and 3rd place scorer and #3 (Reynolds) is second in conference...

***OFFICIAL wisconsin AT MINNESOTA RIVALRY GAME IN-GAME THREAD, BETTER DEAD THAN RED!!!***

Obviously, a depressing loss especially considering that the Gophers largely controlled the game in the first half. Still, they fought back again and tied the game with seconds left. Tyson made a great shot to tie it but Blackwell, having only 5 seconds, made an even better one to win it. As...

***OFFICIAL wisconsin AT MINNESOTA RIVALRY GAME IN-GAME THREAD, BETTER DEAD THAN RED!!!***

To be fair, most of us weren't sorry to see him go when he left. He was just fair at Tulsa last season. He's having his most efficient season as a senior and I'm not going to begrudge him his moment.

***OFFICIAL wisconsin AT MINNESOTA RIVALRY GAME IN-GAME THREAD, BETTER DEAD THAN RED!!!***

The first half looked at times like it could have ended better than a 7-point lead but that was about as good of a half as we could expect coming into the game. As usual, a couple more free throws could have helped. Keep focus and don't get in foul trouble guys. A 4-2 start in the league is...

He also appears to be a much better athlete than those of us who knew little about him before the season expected.

I guess I would rather have them coming off a huge win than a crucial loss that puts their backs to the wall.

Some of those guys leaving in the Spring will be among these current transfers. Happens every year lately. Commit-stay through spring game- decommit. We picked up something like 7 transfers last spring including Weston and Nestor.
