    Dabo details blatant tampering

Now that said .... If being actual, dyed in the wool employees of the school allowed us to get to collective bargaining faster .... I'm for that. Here's the rub: how do you do that only for P4 football and men's & women's basketball players .... but not any other sport at P4 schools, let...

    Dabo details blatant tampering

Michael Jordan was not an employee of McDonald's. Whatever that relationship was legally, that's exactly the same case as we have with players signing defacto NIL contracts with schools directly.

    Dabo details blatant tampering

You're the one who keeps bringing up a tangential and as far as I can tell irrelevant point about "non-competes". There doesn't need to be any such clause in any contract. It can just be a rule: you break your contract, then the rules say you aren't eligible for the following season...

Hey legal guys, please weigh in on Darian Mensah

If that isn't actually in the contract Mensah signed, then why are you bringing this up? Who said anything about unlimited? Who gets to decide what's "enforceable" or not? Are you denying that the NC court has ruled that he cannot play for Miami? That didn't actually happen? They can't...

Hey legal guys, please weigh in on Darian Mensah

Bold: what are you talking about? Are you trying to assert something about the contract was unfair? How so? I haven't read anything like that. I'm going to take a wild guess that you are a libertarian.

    Dabo details blatant tampering

I'm talking about laws and NCAA rules. Let them go to court if they don't like our laws regarding breaking a signed contract. So you're saying the court can't do what it did in the Mensah case? Sure seems like it did it just fine. Monetary damages aren't good enough

    2026 12 Team CFP

So looking into it a bit more ... possibly the Notre Dame thing is like a "guaranteed at-large spot"? Kinda a BS hand waving semantics thing, then?

    2026 12 Team CFP

For the 2026 CFP .... so the following scenario is possible? - lowest P4 conf champ is ranked outside the top 12, but it doesn't matter they're in - Notre Dame ranked inside top 12, so they're in - highest ranked G6 is ranked higher than lowest P4 conf champ, but outside the top 12 ... so...

    2026 12 Team CFP

My question is: what's the point where the Big Ten gives everyone the middle finger and drops out of the CFP, creating their own playoff?

    2026 12 Team CFP

Correct. They want it to stop being an SEC-fest. The SEC has rigged the rankings. And the CFP is owned by ESPN, which is now the SEC's bed warmer. The Big Ten knows with how the SEC has rigged the rankings that they need 24 in order to guarantee the same number of teams per year that the...

Hey legal guys, please weigh in on Darian Mensah

Monetary damages isn't good enough. The rich people at the new school will just wave their hands and make those go away (ie. they'll pay them). Players who break contracts must be punished: ineligible to play.

    Dabo details blatant tampering

Mensah absolutely should transfer to Miami. Right now. Do it. They literally can't stop you ... they can't put a chain around you and prevent you from getting in your car or on a plane. And he should be ineligible to play for Miami or any other team for the duration of the contract he signed...

    Dabo details blatant tampering

Sure .... the penalty for transferring and breaking your contract should be that you are ineligible to play for any team for the length of that contract. That works for me.

    Hope

Without rich boosters to buy you Heisman trophy winners .... there is no hope. We don't have those. Put it out of your mind.

Who's going to be the jersey sponsor?

As to the actual OP, as was already answered .... gotta be Cub, to start out.

Who's going to be the jersey sponsor?

Moved their corporate headquarters to right over by Flying Cloud airport (to a relatively small building for a $3.5B business), but still largely an Iowa company.

Who wins the National Championship: Indiana or Miami?

Now that the novelty has worn off, absolutely zero reason for Cuban to keep buying Heisman winners. Look for a 8-9 win IU team next year.
