Lol. If you are going to cut sports we shouldn't be in the Big Ten. The problem is the disconnect with alumni. Southern teams seem to love their teams more. They have no problem donating. This is embarrassing actually.
You also need to do something about the stadium. It is 16 years old. It is great but stagnant. Do something with the 3rd deck. A club or premium seating. More suites. More food options and restrooms. Have a massive scoreboard on the other side and enclose the bowl somewhat. You don't need to...
I was at that game and we left pretty much at the start of the 2nd qtr. I was colder, wetter, and more miserable than any cold weather home game. Being soaked on the train back to the loop was just miserable.
I used to eat there once on awhile before games as well as the Loring. Sadly there are hardy any places left to go in and around campus. I am a non-tailgater but there are still places on the way. Sad but a sign of the times in the restaurant business.
My cousins went to Penn State. Having been there all I can say is State College, the campus, and Beaver Stadium are way overrated. That has nothing to do with his decision. It is in the middle of nowhere. It is redneck Appalachia.
The last time I went to Evanston the tickets were $5 on the secondary market but this being at Wrigley is different. Weather could also be a factor. It is a great road trip but because of the time of year most people will probably make up their mind closer to game time.
BA just went down to 9 player in football. I am not sure why they don't co-op with Faribault HS like they do in other sports. I would make perfect sense as far as numbers go.
