The numbers always seem to work out in the end and I am sure the staff knows how many spots they have to work with. Things have really slowed down so assume we are basically at our roster limit but won't shock me if there is still some more shuffling that happens.

Yeah, the hurt feelings have less to do with age and more to do with how secret everything is at the college level. In the pro ranks you know there is a pecking order and what not but everyone knows what kind of contracts players a signing because it is out in the open and regulated.

I'm sure coaches are used to dealing with disgruntled parents and players over playing time issues and what not. Now they also get to deal with agents which I am bet adds a whole new layer of fun for them.

Portal must void the agreement because otherwise players could just constantly put their name in the portal and pull back out when they don't get a better offer. Going into the portal signifies you want to transfer to a different school so would make sense the old school would no longer be...

Don't disagree, I mean that was the way it was done for years. Stockton and Simpson were both really highly rated out of high school which might have made them more confident in being the heir apparent at Georgia and Alabama. For less highly rated QBs in this current era they may be better...

Pretty sure that you forfeit your scholarship when you go into the portal. Team has to take you back if you want to come out of the portal and return, but they don't have to if they don't want to. I think scholarships are year to year so if you try to play games with it the team can just not...

For QBs this definitely seems like the way to go unless you are sure you have a shot to land a starting job at a power 4 school as a freshman which very few guys can.

Good chance not wanting to end up with the Raiders or Jets played at leas some roll in his decision to come back. Some teams have just proven to be QB graveyards and those are two of the worst over the past few years especially.

Not out of the question if he finds that the grass isn't greener and he isn't getting the kind of offers he wants. If the team took him back we would be at 5 QBs on the roster (Drake, Max, Wittke, Merdinger, and Kollack). Question would be if there is still a spot for him. Edit - totally...
