So you would have run the guy from USC in like the first 30 seconds of the game when he pulled his first of about 50 flops in that one. You sound like a great ref to me...... :)
Yeah, in a perfect world you put the FCS/weakest opponent in week 1 but that may be easier said then done with all the logistics involved with scheduling.
Yep, Grove is extremely active when he is in there and is developing into a nice role player who gives the team quality minutes when he is out there. May never be a starter or star but can be a quality part of the rotation off the bench and as he keeps developing could work his way into a...
Outside of the typical malcontents on this board I don't think anyone is down on the hire.
Doesn't mean the losing streak isn't frustrating as hell, especially when a bunch of the losses could have been wins had things broken slightly differently.
lol....schedules get made years in advance....for all any of us know they tried to schedule South Dakota State and the SDSU didn't want to play (not that it matters but South Dakota State didn't play any power 4 teams last year).
But in the end, if a power 4 team is scheduling an FCS team they...
Over this stretch we have rarely been outworked by our opponent but we very much were in the first half tonight. Penn State just out played us. Solid comeback in the second half but can't dig that large of a hole against a bad team when you have the limitations we do.
Niko needs to find that...
They can get a little more detailed with guys doing the camp circuit (especially QBs).
The other factor with ratings that people often forget about is that these recruiting sites can only evaluate guys from an on the field standpoint. Late bloomers or injured guys will always be underrated...
Where we disagree is when it is ok to schedule an FCS level opponent.
I'm fine with an FCS opponent if you are playing at least 10 power 4 teams and 11 FBS level teams. If you are doiing that I have zero issue with that 12th opponent being from the FCS level.
I think it is weak to schedule an...
Which again makes complete sense if you actually think about what the recruiting sites are claiming to do with their rankings.
There is no possible way they can evaluate that many players across the entire country playing against all different levels of competition. They are for entertainment...
Unfortunately JCJ is looking like he did against Wisconsin. He had that 3 game stretch where he really seemed to be coming into his own but he has not looked good in the last few.
PSU outplaying us so far....need someone to step up.
And here I thought the sites were made up of small staffs doing the impossible task of trying to accurately evaluate thousands of recruits playing against all different levels of competition across the country.
But with this new information I may need to rethink my opinion. :)
Going to be interesting to see how both team navigate the lack of size in this one. Really need JCJ to bounce back from a subpar game against Wisconsin and have a big day.
With Cade there is a good chance we finally end the losing streak. Without him it will all depend on guys staying out of foul trouble and playing well.
This is a good way of looking at it. If we are the exact same team in 2026 that we were in 2025 then yeah that team would probably struggle to improve on the 7-5 mark from 2025.
But obviously the hope is that we take a step up in 2026 with a QB who now has a full season of starting under his...
I mean the moment they allowed players to have agents they basically made enforcing any kind of tampering impossible unless the player is a moron like the Clemson kid that Dabo has gone public about.
If you are playing 10 games against power 4 teams I really don't see a problem with scheduling a layup against a FCS team. There is no exhibition or pre-season in college football.
Flip side to that is a team like Indiana who is scheduling all layups in their non-conf schedule by playing a...
Frankly I think the concept of viewing any Big Ten game as a guaranteed win is pretty crazy. Maybe the helmet schools can kind of do that when playing the bottom tier teams in the conference but we have all seen that anything can happen on any given Saturday.
