Defense is hard to predict because of how diverse different down packages are these days. For example on the d-line, I bet we see rush packages with Karmo, Smith, Howard, Menz (goosebumps, that's a nasty lineup)
There are millions of reasons why highly touted transfer/recruited WR's never work out. Sure, sometimes it's completely their fault, but there are many things at play. There's only one football.
Wait, guys, this is huge. 6'3 220 lbs, former 5 star, Auburn fans surprised he's leaving and suspect it's because they couldn't afford him. We usually never get guys like this at the skill spots.
We must have opened up the wallet for him
Sneaky big resigning and could be the guy that unlocks our defense next year. Quiet past season with Smith, Howard, Menz getting the attention in the front 7. I've never seen a rush end with twitch like Karmo here before. Vamos!
I'd imagine that Simon isn't happy about getting the boot once we finally start to throw the ball 50 times a game. Hard to recruit and develop when we don't have a WR friendly offense.
I've never, ever seen a Gopher team with as much athleticism on the d-line with Smith, Howard, Menz, Karmo. I really hope we can figure out the DT group because our pass rush will be disgusting
He didn't even play that well this season and there are still holes in his game
The media attention and marketing from his signing were more beneficial to the U than his actual production on he field
Our secondary will survive just fine and be OK.
The bigger news is Anthony Smith and Jaxon...
If OSU had a QB they’d win. Not a fan of Sayin.
There’s something about the pace/rythm he plays at that bothers me. I don’t like how slowly he gets the ball out. Also, his lack of mobility and cement feet makes Tanner Morgan look like Louisville Lamar Jackson
Can we put Maroney/Barber III as the RB1? I would argue they did so much for our program both in success/numbers but also in sports pop culture at a time when CFB media/ESPN was growing. They made our name part of the national conversation in ways that I haven't seen since outside of the 2019 run.
As others will point out, perhaps he did the math and realized that taking every cent of NIL money is more advantageous than rolling the dice on the draft this year. You can either have the NFL money or the NFL + last year of NIL money. Easy choice
Interesting for many reasons.
Where does Chip want to go from here career wise? He's 62, maybe he sees this as a chance to live in a cool city, take his foot off the pedal and scope out a potential future? Is it part of a plan to get back to a bigger school?
Northwestern's new stadium + NIL...
