    B1G Game 1: Gophers Host Purdue (12-10-23)

I was glad to see we had a decent lead going into the 3rd. I thought that we had shaken the 3rd quarter blues, but not so. But a miracle finish. Didn't we have a miracle win in the first B1G game last year too (Penn State)?

Down 2 at half. 38-36 He was on staff there.

Looks like only option to follow this game is by audio? Not sure of where the Gophers are broadcast on local radio stations.

Game 7: Gophers Host Norfolk State (11-29-23)

Good win, other than Braun having another off night, little to complain about. Really expected this to be a much closer game than it was.

Game 6: Gophers Host Stony Brook (11-26-23)

I thought Stony Brook played fairly strong defense. I think they were having trouble with our defense as well. Seemed like they were driving and flinging up shots trying to draw fouls without success. Their leading scorer, Clark, was limited in points as well as in playing time due to fouls...

Game 5: Gophers Host CSUN (11-22-23)

Well, I wasn't at the Purdue game (headed to warmer location), but as a season ticket holder I would likely have been there for Florida State if a home game. I think holding a team to 2 in the 4th is more remarkable when it is highly likely that the bench was emptied for Gophers. Thanks for...

Game 5: Gophers Host CSUN (11-22-23)

Another note: It was nice to see the band out in full force and they actually let the band perform a lot instead using canned music. Much better atmosphere for a college game.

Game 5: Gophers Host CSUN (11-22-23)

Don't think I have ever seen a team held to 2 points in the 4th quarter. And MN did it essentially with starters sitting for most of it. Seemed like Coach wanted Braun to score 20+ points, left her out there until she did (last starter out). Again, our worst quarter was the 3rd. Hopefully...

I will be there with 3 others. I will look for you :)

Game 5: Gophers Host CSUN (11-22-23)

Some additional information: CSUN beat Utah State 79-64 (home), beat Seattle University 81-72 (home), lost to Santa Clara University 71-39 (road), and lost to Hope University 64-60 (home). All of their games have been in front of crowds around 200 fans. So perhaps 2,000 fans might be a bit...

Game 4: Gophers Host UConn (11-19-23)

Attendance, 10,869. Coach grabbed microphone and urged fans to return, even those wearing blue and white. Without looking it up, I suspect it is the largest crowd since the first game when Lindsay was named head coach. However, the revenue from this game might have been higher?

Game 3: Gophers Host NDSU (11-15-23)

I was really hoping Battle could get one more assist for double/double. Heyer did get a double/double. Holloway really showed her leaping ability, especially when intercepted the pass and took for a basket. She caused NDSU a lot of trouble. Glad to see Braun return with "only" a large bandaid.

Game 2: Gophers Host Chicago State (11-12-23)

If Sanders is the backup point guard, I think it will be trouble once the competition gets better (i.e. B1G). Too much dribbling only looking for her shot. Won't work in a month other than giving the opposition a turnover. Fun to watch Holloway play. They need to get Heyer going. Braun's...

    Borowicz?

pic.twitter.com/mtC3NbIyGN Lindsay Whalen ⁦‪@Lindsay_13⁩ One of the great joys of my time coaching at the U was watching this young woman play basketball. Getting to know ⁦‪@katieborowicz⁩ as a person, even better. I can’t wait to see what is next, but whatever it...

Dawn Plitzuweit's Introductory Presser on Monday

Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully she mimics Frese more than Washington. I watched Maryland move on yesterday.

Dawn Plitzuweit Named New Gopher Head Coach!

I have no inside knowledge, but after reading a variety of articles, etc. my guess is that her reasons to come her are several including closer to family, familiarity with recruiting this area (and easier to get recruits to U than WV), increased salary, B1G, and maybe even a change of bosses (WV...

Some good news on the Gopher WBB front

If memory serves me correctly, after Oldfield left the U for Maryland, Lindsay was reported to have been in touch with incoming recruits and team members encouraging them to come/stay. Perhaps Braun and Heyer will do the same (unless it isn't allowed under current rules).
