It's also worth noting that Terry Pegula has overseen the worst franchise in the NHL for 15 years now. He may be a brilliant business man but there's plenty to question about his ownership decisions.

While gambling addiction is nothing to downplay, this argument could be used for a lot of hobbies. Why does anyone go out to eat at restaurants, pay to see movies, etc.? Why does anyone drink alcohol? Why do I spend money on gophers season tickets? At least with betting there's an opportunity...

I’d be intrigued. Jeanty + Lamar + Bowers certainly is a heck of a skill player trio. I really don’t see Mendoza as a high end NFL QB. The dollars obviously complicate things but I can see why they would explore the idea.
