I agree with most of what you wrote but it looks like he'll have some options. He's visiting Virginia today which would make a lot of sense. They are coming off a 11-3 season and losing their top 2 RBs. It's also only ~4hrs from home for him.

All Things 2026 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

As of right now, there is only 1 team with less cap space than the Vikings heading into next season - the Kansas City Chiefs. There are only 6 teams total, including the Vikings that are currently over the cap. 2 of those are ~6 million or less over. There are 18 teams that are 20+ million...

Mason is a backup RB who has his own injury issues when he gets more carries. Having a good RB and a good TE is a game changer for a young QB. The Vikings currently have neither. They save a whopping 4 million if Harrison Smith retires, plus they need to find his replacement. They have an old...

Kick the salary cap can down the road and you are left with one average RB as a starter, one below average TE as a starter, and a whopping 20 million to find a legitimate backup QB, fill other holes, and sign draft picks that they have to hit on to have any depth. Where have I seen this story...

Fries also signed a 5 year deal. They can get out of that contract after next season with zero dead cap. Barring injury, Fries will be the starter at RG next season. That just leaves center and potentially RT as ?s on the OL.

    Max

He has a fracture in his throwing hand. He tried to play through it, re-aggravated it during yesterdays game and couldn't continue. There was zero point in him continuing the game yesterday.

I don't have a problem with Brandel. Fries will be the RG again. Rouse has no business being a starter.

You're a pussy if you don't play through hand fractures on your throwing hand in a meaningless game. /s

Getting rid of O'Neill is the easiest way for the Vikings to chip away at their cap issues this offseason. They can cut or trade him with very little dead cap relative to his salary, would save 20 million. At that point they would 'only' have 8 more million to shed. Cutting Hargrave will save 11...

It wouldn't be stupid. They are right back where they were when Kwesi took over. 4 years of Kwesi and they have 0 playoff wins. This roster is a mess and is going nowhere right now.

Who cares if they won 43 games. They have zero playoff wins. And who cares what the fans want the GM to do? If the GM is paying attention to what the fans want then he should be fired. This is the longest playoff win drought since the Frazier/beginning of Zimmer era. They were out of cap hell...

    Max

I'll be surprised if Max isn't the QB3 next season. The Vikings will bring in a better backup. Most QB3's in the NFL are not good, that's why they're 3rd stringers. Hell there are very few good backups. Do you think Clayton Tune is any better than Max? I don't.

Coleman was mainly a one trick pony. He’s tall and fast and just ran deep most of the time. He’s not a good route runner, not very strong, and has average hands. I don’t really have a #3. Everyone else who left is just replaceable depth. If I had to pick one it would be Bryan.

People are really overrating Coleman. Koi had more receiving yards than him this season.

    Koi Perich Transfer Portal

I think there's quite a bit of truth to this. I want Koi back. He was great as a true freshman, but he took a big step back this season. The talent is obvious but his body language was off all year, especially after the Cal game. A DB group with Koi, Brown, and Nestor should not give up the...
