***OFFICIAL NATIONALLY RANKED IOWA AT MINNESOTA RIVALRY GAME IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Not to argue, but even after last night's loss, KenPom has Iowa at #18. Maybe they haven't been completely consistent, but they've had their moments, and they have good talent. I'd be surprised if Niko isn't hammering on the rebound differential today. Robert Vaihola ain't gonna be walking...

Describe the Gophers win over Iowa in 1 sentence

When they got down by one point late, that was a gut check, and they gutted it out.

One last thought. When Stirtz lined up that last shot, my soul left my body for an instant.

Great post. Toward the end, the Gophs were switching on everything, which freed Stirtz up not being guarded by Reynolds. Tyson isn't a bad defender, but he had trouble when he got switched on Stirtz. This is why Reynolds was the hero of the game--doubly for offense and defense. The other hero...

Black Monday NFL coaching firing thread

The word incredible is overused, but it's truly incredible how many head coaches the've had over the past several years and how short of leash they give them. Carroll is accomplished and talented, and if he can't do it, who could? I can't imagine they'll be able to attract anyone with anything...

All Things Cedric Tomes Recruitment Thread (2026 Guard, East Ridge HS, Commits to Gophers)

His smoothness reminds me of Nate Mason, but he has more range than Mason.

Matt Simon has been let go

Both can be true. Obviously, having the money to retain assistant coaches is part of this. Losing Hetherman is going to sting for a while.

Matt Simon has been let go

Is anyone else reading in the tea leaves that Fleck is feeling pressure and and a sense of urgency? I feel like the Indiana experience is demonstrating, for the world to see, that elevating a moribund program to conference title contention doesn't have to take decades.

When Did Players Lose The Skill of Shooting a Basketball?

Soooo...one of my seat mates snagged passes for us to hang out in the club room at one of the games last month. We filled a few cardboard boats with snacks and sat down at one of the high-top tables. At one point, one of the boats started moving on its own--rotating by itself. We all noticed it...

Ugh, Robert Vaihola will have knee surgery on Friday and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

I've seen this episode: the flu hits the 4077th, and only Hawkeye is available for surgery...and then HE gets the flu and still has to operate. Him to Hotlips: "Remember that shot you gave me for the flu? Well, it worked; I have it."

Shooter: Gophers efforts to raise money for renovations to The Barn has been temporarily shelved in favor of raising NIL funds.

This is what it's come to, and it's hard to see this changing any time soon: payroll is an unfillable hole that will demand more and more from fans and boosters and supersede other needs.

***OFFICIAL FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

This is funny because it's sort of true in a way. At least a couple times, that guy faked me into thinking we were going into a TV timeout.
