70’s Guy: I wish I could go back to 1985 and explain to people that in the future you have to win the Rose Bowl to play in the Peach Bowl.

Yeah, that is tops. Probably next would be the Ole Miss Coach that guided them in the Regular season bailed a game before the Sugar Bowl, to go to yet another SEC Rival, LSU. Even my 1985 self seeing Lou Holtz go to South Bend prior to the Independence Bowl would find that rather unfathomable.

So now Pro Bowl status matters? ;)

I wonder how one would explain to someone in 1985 that in 2025 that the Sugar Bowl was contested between the SEC Champion (Georgia) and yet another SEC member, (Ole Miss).

It does not sound like Brosmer will get the 3rd start this week, though things can change rapidly with JJ McCarthy's health status.

SEC Bias: This is a reminder that LSU these last 5 years is the same as Minnesota, just with a lot more AP votes and more FCS wins.

Just as dopey as "Think Big" or calling oneself the Big 10 when there are 18 teams in the conference. No shortage there.

Sounds good, but I will add this: If Indiana loses to Oregon, my thoughts are given what the Hoosiers have already accomplished, I think it would spur Cuban to chip off even more funds to his Alma Mater. We got so close and I have a ton more of where that came from, this is just the tip of the...

All Things 2025 Playoffs and Bowl Thread

Rooting for Nike/Phil Knight money over Cuban dough is an interesting choice. Even if they lose, I think Indiana winning the Big 10 for the first time since 1967, beating Ohio St for the first time since 1988 and winning their 1st Rose Bowl ever to make it to the CFP Semifinals seems like that...

Actually Indiana is the 2nd. Penn St in 2024 lost to Oregon in the Big 10 Championship and still qualified for the CFP. They beat SMU & Boise St prior to losing to Notre Dame in the CFP Semis.

SEC Bias: This is a reminder that LSU these last 5 years is the same as Minnesota, just with a lot more AP votes and more FCS wins.

Here's my SEC bias after taking in all 8 CFP games: I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 all SEC Matchups the most (Alabama @ Oklahoma & Ole Miss vs Georgia) and to a slightly lesser degree Miami clobbering the Ohio State. The other 5 games...Uffda.

    Koi Perich Transfer Portal

I think the optics of Perich leaving with the impacts on future recruiting, accumulating and maintaining talent are are more of an effect than losing his on field contributions. Could have been an ambassador for the program in decades to come. Bummer. First "star" talent to bail since Bucky...

I think that would be easier to explain than the Rose Bowl game was Indiana against ALABAMA and the Hoosiers we FAVORED by a Touchdown. What happened to the PAC-10? Why isn't 'Bama in the Sugar Bowl, did New Orleans fall into the Gulf of Mexico? Indiana really WON the Big 10 and are giving...
