It's going to be against Green Bay backups, though.

False It lacked necessary context and I would edit or delete it, if it were me

Gophers are expected to hire Stanford defensive coordinator Bobby April as its new rush ends coach.

"Whether they are labeled that or not" is the entire, sole point. It's a tiny, weird, pedantic point. That's the kind of guy I am. As always, take this with whatever grains of salt you want. Prompt: To what extent is the term rush end used in football and is it a less formal term compared to...

All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

My bolding: as I said, without additional context such as what is introduced here (the bolded part), not to mention that other teams did exceptionally well without having any non-long snapper Pro Bowlers, so clearly it doesn't matter or correlate at all with season outcome. That should have...

It seems you are agreeing that you were wrong to be so relaxed and casual about that one win and not slipping that much back then, because now you are quite concerned about it.

I would think the NFL coaching structure makes more sense. That's just me EDIT: talking about head coaches who call plays

    How To Fix College Football

Well @Some guy , it appears you largely are correct that currently existing law and precedent (key thing) does not support my vision, as is. On purely technical grounds, it would require either a new law or a new court ruling. I would consider a new court ruling to not be the same thing as what...

    How To Fix College Football

Just going to address a smaller part first, then will get to the bigger part. New NFL players are not required to join the NFLPA, right now. So, that wouldn't be any different with a college players union.

Yes you do, I quoted it here https://gopherhole.com/boards/threads/all-things-2025-minnesota-vikings-in-season-thread.118929/post-3247630 Now watch you'll duck again.

    How To Fix College Football

I disagree. If the NFL can exist, then I think a new entity can be formed and players can choose to play for it within the confines of a players union. I think federal labor supports such a thing without the need for a congressional action. Doesn't mean that is what will happen.

Gophers are expected to hire Stanford defensive coordinator Bobby April as its new rush ends coach.

So far to my knowledge (thanks Greek!), only Minnesota and Rossi at Michigan state have a Rush Ends coach. It's within the realm of possibility for others to exist. Many others (NFL and P4) have DE coaches and OLB coaches, which I never denied.

    How To Fix College Football

My wild guess is a new legal entity that would be something like the media term P4. The other party would be a players association for players employed by that entity. I think that's the simplest way. Doesn't mean it is the best way or how it will go down.

Gophers are expected to hire Stanford defensive coordinator Bobby April as its new rush ends coach.

For the record: Not a single post on this thread of mine says its ridiculous to have a DE coach. It isn't ridiculous and many teams at high levels do it. I support it. I don't even know if I would say it is ridiculous to re-label a DE or OLB coach as "Rush ends coach". But it is definitely a...

    How To Fix College Football

I don't think congressional action is required. But I'm happy to leave it as that wild guess for now. I think there is almost zero percent chance that college football won't be revisiting this topic on a yearly basis.

    How To Fix College Football

Another invalid comparison. No one is comparing Bethel to high level colleges, so Bethel doesn't prove anything about them. You would watch Gophers with players all 30-35 years old who never attended the school? Maybe you'll say you would and maybe you actually would. I wouldn't. My gut says...

SEC Bias: This is a reminder that LSU these last 5 years is the same as Minnesota, just with a lot more AP votes and more FCS wins.

2003 as well https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Minnesota_Golden_Gophers_football_seasons Wonder if that was a typo? 2001 seems an odd starting point, unless it was suppose to be for 25 seasons for some reason?

SEC Bias: This is a reminder that LSU these last 5 years is the same as Minnesota, just with a lot more AP votes and more FCS wins.

Hypothesis: some decent chunk of those 46 weeks are a thing like this. - rank them pre-season - then the first X (usually 3 or 4) weeks are non-conference and relatively easy games, that they won't lose, so those weeks stay ranked since they started ranked - even after their first loss, usually...
