Here is TxTech billionaire walking through blueprint for how they bought their way into the national spotlight. This is the new college football.

The ROI is entertainment. 2 million is fuckyou money for a guy like Cuban, or Campbell or Phil Knight. It's like you or I paying a hundred bucks for a Gopher hoodie to wear to a game. And for all the people bitching and moaning about pay to play, please google Sam Gilbert.

Who should be in the 12 team playoffs?

I was switching back and forth between Oregon-JMU, ISU-Villanova, and Bears-Packers all evening. Since I detest NDSU and have regularly made fun of their delusional fan base, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. But that should have been clear to anyone who read your...

True. But wouldn't NIL still exist at lower levels, meaning players could still get a bag of cash?

All Things 2025 College Football D2 and D3 Thread

No. The Pioneer League is a group of D1 schools that choose not to offer football scholarships. UST wasn't kicked out of D3 football. Morehead State has always been D1, but just chose to not offer scholarship football. Austin Peay was the same until they went back to offering scholarships...

Well, your opinion has nothing to do with how colleges choose to classify their athletic programs. If the outstate MN public schools all decided to drop down to D3, they could. UM-Morris actually did. (and Crookston probably should.)

Why is that even something to discuss? There's literally no requirement for schools to be D2 or D3 in terms of size, public v. private etc. It's simply how they choose to classify and how much they choose to invest in athletics.

    How To Fix College Football

There's no salary cap in college football, and there's a very real chance that if anyone challenged years of eligibility requirements in court that they'd win.

I'm going to assume they have competent counsel that is telling them it's easier to give all the conferences a path than to fight it.

Who should be in the 12 team playoffs?

And yes, Oregon is beating up on JMU. But Oregon may well have beaten up on anyone. Tulane played fine against Ole Miss. They moved the ball great, but just couldn't convert when in counted. And another point to those who don't think a low seed can win - you aren't watching the FCS playoffs...

Who should be in the 12 team playoffs?

Well, after watching A&M today, that's probably not a hill to die on. And Texas, ND, and Vandy didn't qualify for the playoffs based on the agreement that all the conferences and ND made as to playoff qualification for this season. It has nothing to do with more competitive games, or being...

Who should be in the 12 team playoffs?

https://siniardlaw.com/blog/can-florida-state-sue-the-college-football-playoff-committee/ This discusses it a bit in relation to FSU being shut out of the four team playoff a few years ago. The conferences, plus Notre Dame, all have to agree, at least for now, on the format of the post season...
