6-10 legitimate starters seems very plausible to me. Quinn Carroll, Jack Henderson, Ethan Robinson, Elijah Spencer level guys.

Yeah, obviously but if the funds go to Taylor they have no ability to go hunting for the OL. Additionally, they are still in the B1G and should have a leg up on most of their competition. Taylor is a great player and will hopefully be healthy all season but it’s fair to question roster...

Both things can be true. In this new era of football, I’m convinced that the non-helmet schools (especially ones that play the game like PJ) need to go all in on the trenches then set tiers for spending from there. On offense, I would go OL, QB, 2-3 skill players that are sure fire B1G...

Whatever amount he received would have beend available to be re-allocated. In any event, it’s not like he went from Top 3 to not in the Top 10.

I don’t necessarily disagree with your opinion BUT given the funds available is this another situation where there are better use of these funds? If this money can be thrown at the OL and help create a top quarter of the B1G unit, does that have a bigger impact on the offense than Darius alone...

I’d think they have the ability to get 6-10 higher dollar transfers. I also agree this should be the approach. Solidify OL & DL, improve CB then WR.

Right, I don’t really care where they come from as long as they were productive. No spot starters/backups from bad P4 teams (and below obviously).

They already have a 5 star at safety. Plus Iowa has similar monetary limitations as the Gophers and they likely prioritize positions other than S. He’s going to a blue blood/school that spends a lot on NIL.

I believe Ray was most recently at Kentucky.

My understanding is that he got hurt before the year and couldn’t get in shape.

Marshall and Ray were complete evaluation misses. They weren’t good and neither played a style that matched what MN wanted to do on offense.

Additionally, the Gophers can’t win if Koi is one of the highest paid players on the team. PJ’s teams need to be built around the trenches first. That’s where the majority of investment needs to go.

Where Gousby ends up will really depend on what they can get out of the portal. CB should probably right behind OL and DL on the priority list. 2 guys on the level of Ethan Robinson, Tre Jones or Jack Henderson and Gousby can probably stick at safety.

Yep, in the B1G, spending on OL/DL is a necessity while spending on S is a luxury. I’d hate to see Perich go but if those dollars to get sent to the trenches instead, its probably a net positive for the team.
