There will be growing pains when a defense has to count on half a dozen redshirt freshmen to play meaningful minutes every week... That's just how it is. The transfer portal took away a number of players who would have been relied upon this season... Luckily, it also brought a couple in as well...

The only talent gap (that last int aside) is at the QB position... and, maybe, in the coaching decisions. The Gophers have plenty of talent on the field.

We're going to need to... and I remember all the talk about how Tyler has good hands out of the backfield. If the Gophers can't grind with him between the tackles, they need to swing him out to get the ball to him in space. That's where his bread and butter, so to speak, will be.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that I'm giving Coach Rossi that credit... He kept the defense calm and they performed magnificently. PJ and them 2 coordinators are gonna need to get that offense squared away.

PJ needs to keep them from folding up... but I'm not that confident in his ability to do it.
