You almost have to take a bunch of your old class/players in some cases to fill the mass exodus, especially with a shorter transfer portal window and the early signing period for high school kids.
LB will be interesting, not sure what to make of Marshall. We haven’t had great luck with MAC players that weren’t great in the MAC. I’m not getting my hopes up that he’s more than a depth piece at this point.
Coleman and Tyler were both raw and left too soon to call them busts, and Wright did make an impact and likely would’ve made a larger one had he committed and stayed here. I’m confident Thompson will make an instant impact.
The one of us angle is always fun. Ball skills seem to be there and I have to imagine those obviously transfer across different levels of college football.
This is the highest rated h.s. recruit we’ve ever had in the ratings era. Bennett Warren would be our fifth highest ever. I know h.s. ratings don’t matter much at this point for these two, but still interesting.
It’s going be annoying if Kene Anene from Eastridge turns into something. No gopher offer out of H.S., he signed with Kansas, entered the portal and now signed with NDSU. He hasn’t done anything yet, but will have to count as a double miss if he turns out.
