If they thought this was the caliber of hire they dont fire Franklin...certainly not mid season. Look Campbell is a good coach its not a knock on him but he is replacing a guy who was coming off a run in the playoffs. The pressure is huge and if he isnt that level or better he wont last...

I dint think Campbell be more successful at PSU than Franklin was. It would be a good hire but a lateral one.

Wasnt the defense of firing Franklin when they did that it would give them a leg up on finding a coach? Penn State is about to find out what Nebraska refuses to acknowledge...firing a successful coach is going to drag you down when you arent the creme de la creme...and PSU is not that.
