    Transfer Portal 2025

The Gophers without Braun and Woodson were able to give Maryland, Ohio State, and USC all a run for their money in the final quarters of each game. But they just weren't able to finish the job in any of them. With Braun and Woodson back, I'm optimistic they will get some victories over top teams...

    Minnesota 2025-2026

Agreed! Illinois is the perfect blueprint. They won the WBIT last year and then were a strong contender throughout Big Ten play, finishing 6th this season. The Gophers have the potential to keep building something great!

U to explore naming rights for Williams Arena

I wonder if this is one of the ways they plan to get more money to pay players directly, now that they'll be able to do that very soon.

WBIT Game 5 Championship: Gophers meet Belmont at Hinkle (4-2-25)

Also of note with Belmont is that Taylor Woodson's younger sister Tatum will be joining their team in the fall once she graduates from high school.

    Minnesota 2025-2026

Yeah, Holloway could be a powerhouse on a mid major team and get a lot more playing time. Same with Johnson. Holloway has really started to do some cool things on offense in the WBIT which is what leads me to think she might look somewhere else to capitalize. I like them both and would be glad...

    Minnesota 2025-2026

Oh I wholeheartedly agree about them making the WBIT semifinals being exciting. I probably should have prefaced to say I don't actually want anyone to transfer and would be sad if they did because I think this team could've been a contender to make it to the Sweet Sixteen as they are and with...

    Minnesota 2025-2026

That's a big "if". I'm worried that some players might get a little restless given it's year 2 of rebuilding and they probably weren't as successful this year as they'd have hoped. Maybe the deep run in the WBIT (and potentially a WBIT championship?) can get them all to buy in again. I sure hope...

Maybe Maryland for one of them. Brenda Frese doesn't seem to mind taking talented players with negative reputations. And I've noticed it actually tends to work out for her when she does it.

WBIT Game 3: Gophers host Gonzaga (3-27-25)

Also, no one is perfect and we don't need to nitpick someone who had an obviously stellar performance overall.

WBIT Game 3: Gophers host Gonzaga (3-27-25)

Yeah, there's just so much strategy in this game that we can't see, especially defensive strategy. We have absolutely no idea what the coach's exact game plans are and how they're communicating it to the players.

WBIT Game 3: Gophers host Gonzaga (3-27-25)

Amaya Battle just likely had the best game of her career so far. Scored 35 points Shot 12/19 Shot 2/2 3-pointers Shot 9/9 free throws Had 10 assists Grabbed 5 rebounds All without leaving the game for a single second! She played all 45 minutes with Grace!

WBIT Game 3: Gophers host Gonzaga (3-27-25)

Another game where the best player on the court was on the opposing team (Ejim) and yet the Gophers found a way to beat them. Glad to see them learning and growing.

It's actually about the same (43.6% vs 43.2%). Here it is against all opponents (sorted by FG%). We're about 12th. And here it is against just Big Ten. We're 10th that way.

    Transfer Portal 2025

That's just dismissing a lot of the talent on the team! They currently have a field goal percentage of 43.6%, which puts them in the middle of the pack in the Big Ten and very close to some great teams. Illinois shot 43.4%, USC shot 44.4%, and Michigan State shot 44.3%. Hart and Stewart both...

    Transfer Portal 2025

I guess whenever I hear people saying that we need some unidentified scoring threats from the portal, my main reaction is to ask for specifics on what players they think are gettable and why they are better than our core group. And specifically, who should these new players replace? Because half...

    Transfer Portal 2025

As long as there isn't a mass exodus, the Gophers are pretty good on shooters. Braun, Battle, Grocholski, Heyer, Johnson, McKinney, and maybe Christian are all credible 3 point shooters when they get open. Braun, Battle, and Woodson are very good in the midrange, and I've seen Grocholski working...

    Transfer Portal 2025

The Hoosiers are the other team I follow most closely, and what happened with Meister playing from the bench for the second half of the season was interesting. She would be a great backup to Hart and can theoretically shoot the three (although not nearly as well as Stewart)! IU's whole team...

    NCAA Tournament 2025

And maybe they can start punching above their weight and poaching some top 20-40 recruits from other states too!

WBIT Game 2: Gophers visit Missouri State (3-23-25)

Battle IS an experienced point guard!!! And without a lot of money to throw around, we're just not going to get anyone better in the portal (because Battle already ranks in the top 10 of Big Ten players for some key stats). She'll be a senior next year and with her this season, the Gophers...

WBIT Game 2: Gophers visit Missouri State (3-23-25)

I'm not so concerned how they'll do against the Gopher defense, which is undoubtedly much better than Oral Roberts's defense. Missouri State only played two Power Four teams this year, and they lost both games. Florida State was 97-66 and Texas Tech was 72-69.
