Yeah....to score a big upset in football you usually need the more talented team to help by making mistakes (turnovers, key penalties). In basketball an upset can happen much easier just based on how guys are shooting on a given night.

On the subject of adding guys mid-season I wonder if Niko is looking into it at all. Going to be really tough to survive the Big Ten season with just 7 regulars. Obviously if we get Viahola and/or Omot back here at some point depth becomes less of a concern but no clue if there has been any...

In Falvey's defense he is working under some ridiculous budget restrictions with owners that have no interest in building a winning team.

Forget the backups....pull up a list of starting NFL QBs....once you get beyond the elite guys there are a lot of mediocre QBs out there starting for teams. Brosmer definitely has a chance to stick in the NFL for a while. May never be a regular starter but I don't know that I would bet against...

I think most of them are Gopher fans they have just become so jaded they come across like Iowa fans because they are only happy when they are ripping the program or complaining about something :)

KOC really seems to like Max so would be cool if he could settle in here as the #2 QB for a while. If they stay with JJ he has shown he can't stay healthy so plenty of opportunities available to a backup QB to get on the field from time to time.

No matter what happens over the remainder of this season at least Max was able to get back out there and show that he is better then what he showed against Seattle. May help him keep a spot in the league going forward.

The only thing that has held Cashman back in both college and pro ball is health. When he is on the field he is a really good player.

Nice....Max did his job and Vikes pulled out the win. Only bummer was seeing JMS and Nubin both get hurt, hopefully they are ok going forward.

Never good when the players are calling for the trainers right away....hipefully Nubin is ok. Both he and JMS have left this one with injuries.

First start was in an absolutely brutal situation, but I bet Max learned a lot from all the things that went wrong. Looks much more comfortable out there today which is good because if JJ is out he is hopefully showing enough for them to let him run the show for the final couple weeks.

He was in a ton of pain on that shot they showed when the trainer was looking at his hand so something is definitely wrong with his throwing hand. If something is broken then good chance Max gets to finish out the year as long as he can at least show he can not get destroyed the way he did in...

Nubin also had a really nice pressure on one of the first plays of the game. Always good to see former Gophers out there making plays. Cashman, Nubin JMS and now Brosmer.......lot of former Gophers out there in this one!

Here we go.......Looks like JJ hurt again on the play that led to Nubin's TD.... And once again Max gets screwed having to come in with an O-Line already missing Darisaw and now missing the center as well. Hopefully things go better for Max then the last time he was out there.

Well to this point Tulane has hung 3 on Ole Miss but not looking real promising for them to get the W unless things turn around real quick. I'm all for getting variety into the playoff beyond just a bunch of SEC and Big Ten teams but lopsided games like these don't really strengthen the case...

huh? I don't think Michigan is going to be worried about what the new coach might be able to bring with him talent wise. You don't target a coach because of a few potential short term transfers.

It used to be Indiana but with the way things are right now Purdue has become the Big Ten version of Kentucky where football is a way to kill some time until basketball season starts.
