Figured Max was going to get the nod given the short week regardless but this definitely opens up the possibility that JJ's season is done. Tough to be a franchise QB when you can't be counted on to be on the field. Going to be interesting to see what the Vikings do this off season.

Yep, we definitely got cheated with his back to back years with season ending injuries early in the season. Awesome player and it has been great watching him become a star in the NFL as well.

While I think it is sad that we have hit a point where players have to announce they are coming back it is great seeing all these starters confirming they will be back in 2026. Bunch of key names that haven't made an indication either way but the returning list is looking really good.

Nestor coming back is a nice boost for the D next year. I know some in here had issues with him at times but he was often one of the best players on the field for us and of course his Wisconsin game was one for the ages.

Good point. Was referring to just the 12 team playoff years but would be fun to see the SEC without a team in the championship game 3 years in a row.

I highly doubt bowl game performance will impact the decision one way or the other. Heck maybe Smith is wired the old fashioned way where he actually wants to play with his teammates one last time. Or maybe he is legit considering coming back.

I want the SEC teams to lose more than I want the Big Ten teams to win. As it stands right now with the final 8 I wouldn't mind seeing Texas Tech come out on top. Would be cool if SEC doesn't have a team in the Championship in back to back years.

Well the fact that he made the trip and is practicing with the team would certainly be a good indication that he is planning to play at least. But never know because I think JMS was a very late opt out a few years ago. Is interesting how quiet Smith has been about his future above and beyond...

Where are you seeing that? Everything I saw indicated x-rays were negative but they were going to do an MRI today with his status being up in the air. Would love to see Max get the chance to start last 2. Even sweeter if he starts the Packers game and leads the team to the victory that keeps...

I would guess we are pretty much in line with the majority of teams and a clear cut below the big spenders. But hadn't really thought of it that way. Falvey would be very used to working with less.

Gotta assume that most players that don't have a team right now aren't going to have a ton of leverage to make big demands in terms of money if they want to play this year.

Especially with how prone JCJ is to getting into foul trouble.
