    Northwestern Fires Pat Fitzgerald

Now it is going to be all about money and it is a lot of money. If Northwest does not capitulate and give the coach a big chunk of change there will be a lawsuit with depositions under oath of all involved from the President of Northwestern to the team managers. There is no comparison to the PSU...

So I did a little work today (Mo vs Sean Tyler...)

There are so many variables in this comparison that there is no way of being able to predict how Tyler is going to perform.

    Northwestern Fires Pat Fitzgerald

I would presume since the first inklings of this came out that Fitzgerald's agent and attorney were in negotiations with Northwestern. I do not know what his contract says but if it is about $4-5 mill a year and he gets two years of the eight years remaining. Eight to ten $mill minus agent and...

To help prepare for the arrival of USC Football

Will not USC as the visiting team wear white shirts with red markings and gold pants?

    Pat Fitzgerald suspended for 2weeks.

I am sure that Fitzpatrick's agent made sure that the coach's last contract had specific acts for which he could be fired" for cause" and not receive a buyout. What we still have is speculation, rumors, denial, conspiracies, etc., and an investigation by one attorney the details of which have...

    Pat Fitzgerald suspended for 2weeks.

In this case, millions of dollars are at stake. If the coach is fired for cause and he sues the university there will be depositions under oath. The University better have their testimony evidence of wrongdoing made under oath before they fire the coach.

    Pat Fitzgerald suspended for 2weeks.

It was "investigated' by a law firm and then by a student newspaper but no one testified under oath so it is still hear say. If they want to fire the coach for cause Northwestern needs people to testify under oath.

    Pat Fitzgerald suspended for 2weeks.

It truly is a downtime when so many people care so much about what happens in another university based on hearsay evidence.

People think Fleck is a shameless self promoter, check out Bielema.

As of today, according to The Athletic, Fickell's recruiting for the 2024 class has been anything but mediocre. The actual conference W/L for WI in 2023 will show if his record is mediocre. Right now all predictions and hopes are just idle speculations to fill the time between now and the start...

    Most memorable Gophers football win?

The wins that had significance beyond MN were the recent wins over WI which were a significant part of the end of Chryst's time as HC and Fickell coming to WI.

The Old Football coach can turn boys into men but not women into wives.

Buboltz: Big Ten West Will Come Down To The Badgers Or Iowa Hawkeyes

As noted above the best chance for MN to win the West based on the schedule and a very, very veteran team, was last year. It is useless to try to predict what will happen next year in the West with so many variables from new head coaches, new schemes new QBs, etc. From a fan's perspective, it...

Which current Power 5 head coaches are the best and worst vs. the Top 25? (The Worst: T(9) PJ Fleck – Minnesota – 20% (4-16))

It matters somewhat how the fans feel about PJ because fan interest and enthusiasm sell tickets. At the moment fan interest is average compared to NE, IA, and WI. But the only fan's opinion that really counts is PJ's boss-the AD.

    Emerson Mandell

Pretty much of a quid pro quo, Fickell said he needed one more OL as icing on the cake so he got the icing. WI needs a RB and another DL in the 2024 class. But none of this matters until these recruits actually make the playing field then how many deserved their ranking will be revealed.

In the next expansion wave, B1G should look Southwest before Northwest

I was not clear enough, I meant the BIG contract.

    All Time Ratings

I do not have a clue where KFORD gets its data but I very seriously doubt that they can determine any number to three significant figures. If you round up the numbers to two significant figures they form groups of two to three teams which is closer to reality. For example, WA, MN, and IA would...
