Has to be a school that wants to run a late 20th Century Tressel/Schiano offense. Wisconsin?!

I think we beat MSU today if no 2nd half breakdowns. This offense isn’t beating NW though, 😔

I’m struggling to see how we could run a less creative offense … I’m sure it’s possible, but still ..

It’s OK when an opponent is gracious enough to mutually feel out the Gophs in the beginning. But the discourteous one, like Iowa this year, who beat the tar out of us, and effectively end the game during this quiet period are a real bother.

    Week 10 Other Games Thread

Penn State, 0-4 in B1G play, is hanging with Ohio State at the half, down only 17-14. Probably get torched in the second half, but are making it a game. They are competing. The Gophs were down 21-3 at the half against Ohio State and clearly weren’t able to make it a game. More an ordeal to get...

***OFFICIAL MICHIGAN ST AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Under PJ, the Gophers are not a very good play-from-behind team once the team faces a 10 point deficit at any point in the game--incuding the 1st Q. Not just picking on this year's team: it has won two come from behind P4 games. But historically, because of PJ's conservative play calling, slow...

In the portal era, redshirting seems geared to help players that need to develop physically to play at the strength and intensity level of the B1G. Lineman most obvious. QB's in many cases, too, because their role includes extraordinary mental responsibility and learning. But if you have a kid...

Matt Rhule's new buyout is $71MM! Dude is 0-18 vs ranked opponents at Baylor and Nebraska

I kind of feel the same way! PJ has improved the team’s roster and structure. But the inconsistency from week to week! It’s like the Gophers are a bunch of teenagers!

Coaching hot seats and replacements in the Big 10

Kelly is rumored not even know the names of many of the players on this year’s LSU team. Might be checked out or over the hill now, except for reputation. He’s leaving with $50M being stuck in his pocket, Might just decide to hang it up?

And a QB I really like … but who also is probably 12th or worse in the B1G in the mythical mobility category.

Matt Rhule's new buyout is $71MM! Dude is 0-18 vs ranked opponents at Baylor and Nebraska

There is a lot of talk on this Board about “mediocrity.” Mediocrity is relative, I believe, to a school’s resources. Mediocrity in the eyes of fans is different for LSU versus, say, Purdue. For mid-level B1G teams, those with middling to low NIL resources, and middling athletic department...

Reusse: Is P.J. Fleck the answer to lift the Gophers out of mediocrity?

One thing about taking a chance on Cignetti: he had an unbroken history of winning big at every level. Prior to his joining Indiana, he had a 119-53 (.770) record as a head coach. In his most recent gig before Indiana, at John Marshall U, his record was 52-9 (.881). At Indiana, in year zero and...

Reusse: Is P.J. Fleck the answer to lift the Gophers out of mediocrity?

False equivalence. Brewster was young and had never been a head coach. Cignetti is a seasoned coach in his 60s: apprenticed under some great coaches and was a very successful head coach before going to Indiana. Brewster was in over his head; Cignetti is defining the water level.
