2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

Looks like a pretty high acceptance rate compared to the U. Three times as large as NDSU. I had assumed there was reciprocity but it doesn't exist. Some Iowa schools have individual accommodations for Minnesota residents. But total undergraduate cost of attendance for undergraduate...

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

Cowardly backs out? The players voted not to play. The coach is gone. The roster depleted. Players are sitting out these meaningless games more and more. Lots of social media noting the bowl system is dead, and all the opt outs are accelerating it.

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

What's that have to do with it? That's not the sponsoring organization's fault that we don't travel not any concern of there's as to why.

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

The thing about it is - I doubt many teams are excited to play Minnesota and it seems the chambers of commerce that run these bowls agree.

The Minnesota guarantee, changing demographics and decreased enrollment all around has caused our neighboring states to really incentivize out of state tuition. SD for instance charges in state tuition to MN kids. I'm sure Iowa has done something similar.

    NDSU goes down

First time since 2008 no xDSU in the quarterfinals.

    NDSU goes down

Could happen but the scuttle is entirely coming from North Fargoans reading that into the Polasek contract extension.

    NDSU goes down

    Virtually no offense today

    NDSU goes down

SDSU yes. NDSU, no. Lost a running back but the Bison didn't suffer.

He's one hell of a recruiter. He had a bunch of 3 stars headed to SDSU that he took to Wazzu. But his while loyalty and brotherhood schtick will lose some varnish at his 3rd job in less than 12 months. Lane Kiffin 2.0 maybe.

2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

The pay day will be a pretty nice heart balm. Not quite a parallel but close: NDSU AD Gene Taylor was hired at KSU and shortly thereafter, filled the FB coaching vacancy with Chris Kleiman, NDSU FB coach. Iowa State just hired NDSU's president. Will Tim Polasek get consideration at ISU? He...

    Thoughts on 2026?

    I predict a win total in the 4 - 8 range.

Does PSU get desperate enough to take a flyer on a successful FCS coach like Brent Vigen or Tim Polasek? Its hard to imagine but if I'm a PSU fan, I think I'd rather try my luck with an unproven commodity at a relatively low cost (buyout) than a guy churning our 7 or 8 wins consistently in FBS.

What a wild time to be a big time college football coach. If you have any kind of success, your agent lets a favorite "source" know that you're being considered for a high profile job and ba da bing, you get a few extra years on your contract and a million dollar raise. Or, you win a lot of...

Lane Kiffin goes to LSU and gets even richer

So Ole Miss should let Lane Kiffin use Ole Miss facilities, resources and time while collecting an Ole Miss paycheck to recruit Ole Miss players for the next however many weeks? Many here know I'm an SDSU fan and when Jimmy Rogers and staff left for Wazzu last December what pissed me off the...

KAM needs to go yesterday but coach hasn't been great. Wasn't the play caller in LA and shouldn't be here.

Made the roster even older with the O line signings. Gambled and lost there big time.
