    Curt Cignetti

He didn’t have a horseshoe wedged up his ass like PJ who had no business getting the Gopher job when he did. His FU type personality didn’t help probably and maybe he was like Caruso at St. Thomas just chose to stay at the lower level.

We now own the longest conference championship drought in Big 10 football

That’s just lazy. There are 50 other better reasons for this.

    Curt Cignetti

I don’t think anyone here was hoping that PJ would have Cignetti at Indiana results. Nobody at Indiana could have seen that coming. I’d trade his personality and way going about things in a heartbeat for our guy. He’s way more focused on football without the other nonsense.

Emmett Johnson will leave Nebraska to go pro

Good chance is he didn’t go to college to go to school and that contributed to him being off the Gopher’s radar. Let’s now put his threads to bed.

2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

With their fans might have been the most disliked player of all time. Turned that around a bit Sr year when he finally played a little better.

    Thoughts on 2026?

Some of that is we have a great stadium that was built though in a spot with no room around it, to speak of. Most of the really good experiences are on campuses where there is room for RVs and a lot of partying. We don’t have that.

Fleck: I had a player walk in say, it's just business. I said it's not business here. There's a piece of business here, but this is not business.

We have been close many years. This year with all the struggles we beat Cal and NW and were whistling our way to a very nice match up. Gotta take that one step up as a program we are stuck in a rut.

    National Signing Day

Plenty of good cultures around college football. Personally, I’d like about a 25 percent shift away from culture focus and more toward football development and a lasered focus on game day prep and coaching. The latter is not keeping up with the Jones’.

    Thoughts on 2026?

Tackle and block better and we go to a great bowl game destination for the second time under PJ. Fundamentals need to improve quite a bit but I like the talent and expect PJ to bounce back in the portal.

2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

Maybe so. I know that a gaggle of Lakeville North and South kids tend to head down there for school every year so it appeals to that sort of demographic. When I looked up the departing coach’s record it wasn’t as good as I thought, but it’s a good job and could be a sleeper going forward. PJ has...

    2025 Bowl Projection Tracker

It’s all about the opponent to me. Whichever bowl matches us up with the most fun (subjective I know) P4 team to play is the best one.

That’s unbelievable. The seniors by and large will never put a helmet on again ya gotta play. Soft.

You may never been to a game down there. I happen to catch one this year and it’s a festive very positive campus and stadium for big time football.

    Michigan State in the $$$$

Coyle not much of a fundraiser. It’s like having one hand tied behind our back. Me thinks MSU will screw this up somehow, too.

M Maybe he’s being coached to tackle the way he is otherwise I think he’d be coached to change it and would?

If I recall AW jr got hurt that year and ended up taking a red shirt.

Is Emmett Johnson biggest miss ever

Turner, Olsen and Vraa would’ve all started here three or four years. Same class — all Bison.

The ‘16 recruiting class turned out OK!? Always a little bit of revisionist history on here.

    National Signing Day

My favorite PJ press conference of the year. He does a really good job talking through the kids that we signed.
