    Next years defense

He has a year of eligibility left wasn’t thinking about him. Only the kids who are 100% in their last year. His draft stock took a hit today.

Fleck said there are no excuses but reasons why the team didn’t win today. Goes on later to mention that they are playing lots of new players.

Before today’s game, our offense was ranked something like 100 in passing and 120 in rushing. Today was better, but otherwise the struggle has been real on both sides of the ball.

    Next years defense

We aren’t gonna lose anything of note and all of the kids coming back will be one year older and should be a little bit better. You gotta think we are gonna be a prime destination for portal cornerbacks playing time all over the field for us.

100% PJ as well under any sort of conceivable budget because of the lack of experience on his staff

All true, but I couldn’t help but beat the dead horse because a lot of times when I have a difference of opinion with folks on here, it’s just because we have a difference of opinion. With you and a couple of the other guys about this budget and salary issue it’s just that you guys are dumb.

    It's time for a change.

You guys or something. Are you adding up all of the salaries for our assistant coaches and then calling that the budget? Say two cracker jack coordinators became available and PJ wanted them and went to Coyle and said I need $1 million more for each of them to replace the duds we have now and...

    It's time for a change.

Or, and then since I’ve long since beaten this horse to death for the last time, Rossi was just ready to get away from PJ to get a break from all that is RTB. I don’t know that for a fact and you don’t know otherwise but if anyone thinks that of PJ went to Coyle and said he needed two or three...

Exactly – – it doesn’t make a lot of sense but it’s what he’s doing.

    It's time for a change.

That’s a very simplistic view. To me a big part of watching sports is the eyeball test you know When you watch something that’s good and you know when you watch something that sucks complete ass. Today, our defense and kicker sucked complete ass.

    We're Soft

Fair enough. His running mate this year 14 isn’t setting the world on fire, either. Both are good players and maybe both were freed up to look better last year because we had two outstanding corners the past couple of years.

The second time the OC left it was the equivalent of taking a 20 foot run and kicking PJ in the nuts. PJ was not amused. You don’t think we could’ve matched Ross’s raise?

Do you believe everything you read or hear or do you think maybe there’s sometimes more of the story?

Not saying that about Heatherman at all I think that’s more of an issue with Rossi and Ciriocca. I know I’m not spelling that name right.

    It's time for a change.

Totally different thing getting yelled at from time to time and having to deal with PJ‘s culture every minute of every day. Just telling you to look up how much money the Big Ten pays us as our split we are rolling in money to pay our coaches and to pay whatever other Bills come due. NIL is an...

Right, and then he got the Miami offer which 95% of folks in the college profession would’ve likely taken even if you matched the money that Miami offered him.

Post Game Thread: Gophers Lose Back and Forth Game to Northwestern, Fall to 6-5 as Defense Struggles Again

Personally, I enjoyed the squad a lot more under Mason warts and all. I think generally his schedules were much much tougher. The Big Ten was a different animal back then and he had some great players to watch with a fun offensive system.
