    Michigan fires Moore

Bummer. I think with him, Michigan would have remained beatable. Hopefully they hire another dud.

Troy Aikman is ‘done’ funding NIL: ‘Didn’t even get a thank you’

Has to be Moore. As we've learned, these are YEARLY deals. Hence the "I'm announcing I'm coming back to the U thanks to DTA", or however those tweets are worded. I suppose it depends on what was offered to Moore and how it was framed to Aikman by the UCLA collective. Was it a multi-year...

Official 2026 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

Apparently Fame knows next year is an even year, which means our RB's will all stay healthy. And if Taylor and Turner come back, he's not playing as much. It's only in odd years that all the RB's get hurt ;) Taylor and Turner only have 1 year left, so if he stayed, he would likely get a pretty...

We've got Grey Duck beer sales for NIL, meanwhile...University of Utah nearing landmark private equity deal expected to generate $500 million

It seems this has a high likelihood of going really poorly. If private equity is giving hundreds of millions of dollars, they're going to want a return, and quick. PE isn't exactly known for taking a calculated, slow, and long-term view on investments. Most athletic programs either break even or...

    Defensive Line Coach let go

I take it this means Collins is sticking around and this poor sap is the fall guy? As Chris Carter so elegantly said “make sure you have a fall guy”.

    National Signing Day

I'm wondering with some programs leaning more heavily towards transfers and focusing less on HS recruiting, is there an opportunity to lean MORE into HS recruiting and get some higher rated guys than they used to? It seems that in the supply/demand equation of HS recruiting that demand is...

    Official Bash SEC Narrative Thread

Completely unrelated, but looking at the top recruits list, 6 of the top 26 HS recruits on that list are from the DMV area. Add in the UnderArmour money (which I guess is drying up now), and how in the bleep is Maryland never that good? Talk about doing less with more.

Gophers’ transfer class gets a failing grade

Both OL and DL were the biggest whiffs, IMO. No shocker that this Gopher squad was pretty easily pushed around at the line of scrimmage. I think it was Ryan Burns that threw out ideas regarding how they need to re-think transfers. One suggestion was going with fewer, but more impactful. Also...

Pharrell Payne did something and got hurt badly maybe?

Just looked up his stats. He shoots 48% and 47% from the FT line the two years he's here. Then leaves, and shoots 58% last year and 79% this year. While a much smaller sample size, he has hit 43/54 free throws this year, which is a lot of attempts in 7 games. WTF.

    Michigan State hires Fitzgerald

I would agree with others in that this raises their floor. Not sure I see Fitz as a guy that will push them into the playoff discussion, however. A perfectly cromulent hire. Maybe I'm wrong, but Fitz doesn't strike me as a guy that will be overly adept at dealing with the "new" college...

All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Did you watch the Hard Knocks where they followed the Giants in the offseason. Woof. Both Daboll and their GM looked like total morons who had no idea what was going on. Dude could barely string two credible sentences together.

    Coyle - Discuss

PJ hasn’t used all of his allotment of coaching salaries for a couple years now. He had enough money to pay a credible DC (especially with him cheapening out at a number of positions) and instead he hired Collins. He is also the one negotiating his contract. If he wanted to reduce his salary or...

All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

I’m more concerned with thinking JJM was good enough to go “all in” with the roster/salary cap situation. QBs are a crap shoot, but you probably need to figure out what you have before thinking you’re a contender. Of course, Kwesi knows that if JJM busts, he’s probably canned anyway, so to him...

All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Not playing JJM in the preseason seemed moronic at the time and now with hindsight looks even worse. Dude needs live reps more than anything. And they sat him for what reason? So he didn’t get hurt again? The way KOC has handled him and the QB position this year has been odd. Dude averaged...

This D is not without talent except at maybe the CB position. It is grossly underperforming.

Post Game Thread: Gophers Lose Back and Forth Game to Northwestern, Fall to 6-5 as Defense Struggles Again

525 yards allowed to Northwestern. Once again, the Gopher defense makes the opposing QB look like Payton Manning in his prime. Unbelievable.
