Off of the top of my head I do know UST has billionaire Lee R. Anderson (API Group) and Jerry O'Shaughnessy (Lario Oil & Gas)( GeoPark Limited )(I.A. O'Shaughnessy Foundation), Patrick O'Shaughnessy and Michael O'Shaughnessy. There are others.
This makes sense to do especially with the south east based MLS teams drawing huge crowds like Atlanta United. IMO, this area will have more competition so it's better to change now before it's too late and kids leave the sport for ever.
Look, if you want to play the big dogs then it's time to move up a level. More importantly will NDSU schedule St. Thomas when they move up? If not then stop whining.
If NDSU wants to play the Golden Gophers then by all means they should move their athletic department to Mid American conference or Mountain West conference.
