Here is TxTech billionaire walking through blueprint for how they bought their way into the national spotlight. This is the new college football.

The NFL is a business. And the NFL, correctly, forces strict pairity. Makes it a vastly superior product. I'll continue watching the Gophers, for the foreseeable future. I won't bother wasting my time on any other team in college football.

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

It does very much matter to the conference. Ie. if the Big Ten were short on bowl teams and had to choose to fill the Pinstripe, Rate, or Detroit bowls, they would sent the last team to the Pinstripe. But that said, if we have enough teams for all those bowls ... pretty sure the conference...

All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

So ... we crush Washington and the Giants, in meaningless wins that will cost us what ... 4, 5, 6, more? draft spots? Probably lose to Cowboys in a game the fans would actually care about us winning. Get crushed at home by Lions and Packers to finish out the year with a sour taste in our...

All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Just looking at some of the scores ... how many draft spots did we just lose by going from 4 wins to 5 wins? Know for sure that Wash, Atlanta, and Cincy went ahead of us. Saw that one highlight of Seattle beating Atlanta ... on that one TD throw the db barely even made an attempt at a tackle...

:ROFLMAO: The game was literally finished before 2:45pm on a Noon start. Washington was not trying to win the game.

2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

Guessing it's easier to get into than Big Ten schools, as well. Like getting into NDSU. NDSU has (or used to have) a good reputation for engineering as well. But obviously ISU is bigger and perhaps the attraction of FBS football and high-major basketball is important. Otherwise, the schools...

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

Fully admit Pinstripe at $4.4M is a much better payout. Not sure playing Clemson is a "better" matchup than Iowa State in the Rate, if ISU doesn't cowardly back out. Now I see why you're saying Penn State "jumped" us, but again I don't think I agree with that. Personally speaking only for...

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

Or Gophers go to Music City and Illinois to the Rate? Why not?

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

Yes facts ... but which of these facts is actually impressive? Beating UCLA is not impressive. Beat an FCS team and New Mexico State which is basically an FCS team. Nothing there. Beat six Mountain West teams, but not Boise State. Meh

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

Based on how many Nebraska fans were in the stadium for us giving them a beatdown this year, I am forced to agree. Lot of these people do not live in Twin Cities. Granted that driving 5-6hrs up from Neb is very doable.

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

They would've played the bowl for ISU first, and should have been given the opportunity to do so. Glad they're getting fined

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

They did? Coulda swore Gophers finished 5-4 in conference and Nebraska finished 4-5.

You're on your own on this one. Sorry brotha

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

And Penn State  But in all honestly, it made way too much sense to send NW to Detroit and PSU to Pinstripe.

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

Bold, and sadly perhaps not untrue, statement. If we had beaten NW we'd be (6-3) 8-4, which would put us up with Iowa in the standings, ahead of all the 5-4 conference teams, though Illinois and Washington also finished 8-4 overall. Would've been interesting to know if Music City still picks...

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

From a lesser conference though. Not even a good enough program (and market) to get invited to the new Pac 12. They're mired down with Wyoming, UNLV, and Air Force getting stuck in the Mountain West.

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

Self fulfilling prophecy. They give us crappy matchups, we don't travel to those, then they see "see! Gophers don't travel! Don't want em in my game!"

I love PHX and Arizona in the cold months, it's a great place to go and there are a ton of flights and flight competition to keep prices down. Can easily see why people snowbird down there and folks even move down there.
