With all due respect, Prior Lake is not a bad 6A team. Their district is really tough. They could legitimately be anywhere from 4-2 to 6-0 with a Metro South or Metro East schedule.

I agree these are interesting match-ups: Wayzata @ Anoka Wayzata is better than last year, but clearly still not the standard we are used to. I'm not sure if Anoka is better than their team last year, but last year they man-handled a Wayzata team that had thrown in the towel on the season...

Minnetonka still has to play Eden Prairie as well. I know the Eagles are down, but they are still a threat any given night. It would be interesting if Edina, Minnetonka and Shakopee each have one loss. I think cross-over games would come into play and if Tonka were to beat Maple Grove it would...

Maybe that just speaks to the fragility of Lakeville North's #1 ranking more than anything? From what I've seen, Shakopee, Minnetonka, and Edina are very, very good teams. They each field 22 solid football players. True, they may get banged up in the latter half of the season, and we will see...

Good point on the depth. Football, even in 6A, doesn't have the numbers it used to.

People always assume parity means a decline in overall quality. Not saying it is the case right now, but it's possible there are several great teams.

There appear to be several 6A teams that have a legit shot to win it this year. The winner of this week's Shakopee-Minnetonka game should be considered the mid-season favorite IMO.
