Iowa nearly doubled their scoring output this season. 15.4 per game to 28. They scored 20 offensive TDs last season. 38 this season. First in the conference in rushing. Their passing game is awful though. Pretty amazing that a major college team can be that bad at QB.

The B1G did Minnesota/Wisconsin/Iowa/Illinois no favors by letting the west coast teams in and no longer having divisions. 8-4 seasons are going to be tough to do for all of those programs.

While the rivalry itself (Indiana-Michigan St) doesn't garner much attention, the Old Brass Spittoon deserves mention as a great trophy.

In past years I would agree with you. Especially if that team had a difficult schedule. But there are so many 0, 1, or 2 loss teams right now with only 3 or 4 games left. Add in the fact ND is taking a bid. That's a lot of teams for a 3 loss team to leapfrog.

No 3 loss team has an outside shot at the playoff. There aren't enough at large spots available.

I think a lot of programs are running into the same issue. Schools are in a bit of a tough spot. If they allow NIL to be promoted a bunch they run the risk of losing donor dollars to NIL. They don't want that cash cow to stop. Athletic Departments have a tough road to navigate going forward...

Officiating being their main job would make them more professional. I don't care what they do the rest of the week. Whatever officials do to train and get better at their jobs.

Exactly. In college football you have to expect bad calls on both sides. Until the conference gets professional officials it will continue.
