    It's time for a change.

Yeah but he was a cheaper hire at the time…

    It's time for a change.

We sure seem to be short on pay for coaches given who they hire. I’m sure every head coach is tough to work for to some extent but if they win assistants are willing to work for him. Nick Saban went ballistic on Lane Kiffin on the sideline but that didn’t stop anyone from working for him.

    It's time for a change.

The coaching staff needs to look long and hard at how NIL funds are allocated. Where do they have to spend at a high level and where can they get away with a less expensive option. For example, would the offense be better this season if the money given to Darius Taylor was allocated to the OL...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT NORTHWESTERN WRIGLEY FIELD IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

It’s understandable if a school like MN doesn’t have the funds to compete for top athletes but you can NOT compound that by being cheap on coaching. If a team doesn’t have as much talent they have to execute the Xs and Os flawlessly. The Gophers have not been anywhere near that this season...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT NORTHWESTERN WRIGLEY FIELD IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

How does a team go an entire season without cleaning up something as simple as zone coverage? They’ve been terrible at it all season. I understand being bad at man all season if you don’t have the athletes but you should be able to clean up zone coverage to some extent.

What type of defense was that? There were 3 guys standing arms length apart staring at the QB…

The completion numbers for opposing QBs this season is completely and totally unacceptable. This defense has been in Robb Smith territory all season.

Don’t forget soft. They’d probably become soft too!

This team is just so unbelievably unprepared every week. It will be incumbent upon PJ to make changes at every level of this program. Offense, defense, recruiting, portal, NIL allocation, strength and conditioning, etc.

PJ better not go into a shell today. They’re going to need all the points they can get.

After the success of the passing game in the 2nd quarter, they come out and run the ball three times… Northwestern then muffs the punt and gives the Gophers a second chance. Thank you! Great passing TD Lindsey to Tracy! Man, this game is coming at me fast!

Guys running open all over the field and DL not even trying to get off blocks on running plays. Effort is awful

Who would’ve guessed a staff full of first time coordinators and coaches would produce this type of result.

This is a pitiful performance thus far all the way around.

Koi does not want to hit anybody. He leaves his feet, hits high and doesn’t bring his arms. He just bounces off guys weekly. The rest of the defense isn’t much better. Northwestern essentially throws the ball to one guy and the gophers allowed him to have two catches on the first drive.

If the blue bloods left for a "super league", who would be hurt more, them or the also-rans like us?

That’s assuming there isn’t a decrease in interest due to moving to a lower level. There’s a lot of unknown and assuming you’re taking Minnesota’s athletic department and finances as currently constructed and dropping them into a lower level of competition is likely not realistic. I think...

If the blue bloods left for a "super league", who would be hurt more, them or the also-rans like us?

Has Minnesota ever spent enough compared to their competition to be true championship contenders? I fear its a real possibility that the administration would use the likely decrease in revenue as a reason to cut spending significantly and likely toward the bottom of the new “league”.

    DB’s

Maybe less bad? Still really bad. Cheap position coaches (and coordinator) all over the defense probably doesn’t help. You can’t have less money for players AND coaches and expect to be good.

    DB’s

He has to play man because they’re awful at zone.
