Do you guys look at the spread

The overall B1G record of the 4 teams they’ve beat is 6-26. Minus Nebraska each of those games had points in them where it looked very likely that the Gophers would lose. In their 4 losses, they’ve been outscored 163-54…

Do you guys look at the spread

Even in two of these examples the Gopher defense made really bad offenses look really good. Purdue was averaging less than 60 yards per game on the ground and they gave up 256 yards at a 6.2 ypc clip! If you subtract out sack yardage, Michigan State gained 539 yards… They played a freshman...

Do you guys look at the spread

Have you watched the rest of the year? The poor play of the defense TODAY… You’re presenting your argument as if the rest of the season has not happened and is not full of data points to support people having a strong reaction to what they saw today.

Do you guys look at the spread

That was the expectation going in because the sky has been falling… There’s been like 2 QBs all season that haven’t torched this defense because the secondary has no idea how to cover anyone in man or zone coverage. They can’t stop the run because the defense line is constantly getting blown...

Do you guys look at the spread

The Gopher defense made an offense that is like 106th in the country look like a juggernaut. Whether the final score ended up at the spread or not has nothing to do with their performance.

    The offensive line

With a good offensive line, is a RB as good as Taylor needed? Just trying to find places where NIL money can be reallocated to the OL.

    Danny Collins

With ZERO improvement all season! On one of the long third down plays, I saw three guys drop into their “zones” and all three were standing there, staring at the QB and were close enough to touch each other.

    It's time for a change.

Paying good coaches highly competitive salaries might be how the exceed expectations. Phil Parker at Iowa is an example. Iowa doesn’t have top money but they make sure they have really good coaches.

    Opposing QB's

Don’t forget the QBs for Purdue, Cal and OSU… Gronowski pretty much did whatever he wanted as well despite his stats not being gaudy. Don’t forget Athan’s first half either.

    The offensive line

This position group absolutely must be upgraded in the off season.

I don’t think Indiana is similar. I think they’ve seen a huge influx of cash. I believe Mark Cuban is involved

Please provide proof of this concept or are you just making up a scenario in order to be mad that it’s not happening?

    It's time for a change.

The staff knows how much money they have to work with and need to do a better job of what positions they allocate the money. Figure out how they can create mismatches. OL needs to be a high priority and maybe they load up on skilled TEs that create a mismatch and can help in the run game? Need...

I’m speaking specifically in regards to revenue received by the schools for media as mentioned in the post to which I responded. Just because Minnesota gets a ton of money from broadcast deals does not give them a leg up against any of their competition.

Prove there’s no other reason for the way he is hiring. What benefit does he have to hire cheap, inexperienced coaches? I won’t argue with your last point. This season has been coached rather poorly with little to no improvement.

    It's time for a change.

Not necessarily. There could be multiple stipulations that aren’t public. I have no doubt that the administration would try to pinch pennies wherever possible. Just saying PJ is choosing not to spend the money doesn’t make sense.

    It's time for a change.

Yes, in their second seasons but he’s consistently found new hires on the cheaper end of the spectrum.

    It's time for a change.

Ok… why isn’t it being spent? Have you seen an actual budget for assistant pool or just the increase clause in PJ’s extensions? It’s my recollection that those clauses have been rather vague.

Are we sure there’s unspent money in the pool?

My point is if a coach wins people will put up with a lot. Also, I’m certain Saban was not easy to work for especially given he was willing to get after Kiffin like that in the public eye. Every B1G team is getting the same amount of money so that does not create any sort of competitive advantage.
