Fleck: This is still a developmental program. Year nine has nothing to do with it. Every year is its own entity. We lost nine NFL players last year…

It's college football... there's no keeping players for 10 years. It's always changing. Based on talent level ... I'd argue that last years team actually underachieved and this years has to some extent overachieved.

    Who walks on Saturday?

Wow bringing Smith back would be great. I wouldn’t blame him for opting for the draft.

Benjamin Mataalii Commits to Gophers! (UPDATED 10/27: Benjamin decommits from Gophers)

I'm cooling on this guy. (unless he changes his mind again...)

A little love for Koi Perich

On the topic of kick returns: I sometimes wonder if kick returners would do better if they risked taking a loss now and then by running "against the grain" (laterally to the opposite side of the field) and hopefully opening up more space vs the typical method of plowing forward and hoping for...

    Fleck: ‘We’re a 6-5 football team, this isn’t 2-10’

Facts. I think this is a very wobbly team, but that doesn’t mean I’ll take everything away from the wins they got.

B1G if One Score/OT Games were Flipped

This fits my interpretation of this team really balances on a knife edge between being great for short periods of time, but also plays like a three win team for periods of time. This could’ve been a really nasty rebuilding year, but they have managed to gut out quite a few wins.

A little love for Koi Perich

He did good on the return and forced fumble. But he has wiffed on tackles or just thrown his shoulder wildly and not wrapped up a lot this year too. He seems athletic but rough around the edges.

Gophers open as 2.5 point favorites over uw

Considering home field often thought to be worth a couple points ... yeah makes sense.

The whole QB whisperer concept is so wild, every few years there's a new one, and they are always false prophets of sorts. When the next one comes we'll forget all about it and some coach will get all the QB whisperer hype right until their luck runs out ... Personally I think the NFL would be...

It turns out when your team doesn't rely on you as a play maker at the QB position very often... and your coaches know the other teams plays ... might complicate making a decision about a QB's ability to play in the NFL ...

Fleck said there are no excuses but reasons why the team didn’t win today. Goes on later to mention that they are playing lots of new players.

He won't say it, but kicker makes kicks and they win that game ... Koi, I like him and all, makes a tackle rather than just throwing his shoulder too... This team just is very uneven. Has been all year.

The Worst Game of All Time?

I feel like coaches sometimes coaches say "you know what, we're not winning with our usual play, just try to make something happen, throw to tight spaces ... take a chance, otherwise we're losing anyway" And that's about what you get.... probably still worth a shot.

The Worst Game of All Time?

I love how in the video the game has gotten out of hand with turnovers and ... some coach decides "Well fuck let the RB throw a pass." -interception- Coach probably: "Yup ...."

Is 6-4 good? In 2025, success needs more context than just win total; "There’s a lot of really good football teams in the country that are 6-4"

I think that happens a lot with the Gophers, and really a lot of college football fan bases. Almost every team in college football (except a handful of the very best) is going to drop a game or two that they "should" have won. Yet when it happens fans just can't get over it and it colors a lot.

This team could easily be a 3 win team. They're doing well for what could have been a "rebuilding" year.
