Benjamin Mataalii Commits to Gophers! (UPDATED 10/27: Benjamin decommits from Gophers)

That's my thinking as well. We're headed right back to getting a few 3 star recruits, lots of 2 stars, and some unranked dudes that we'll "COACH UP because they want to be here" lol.

In hindsight, this outcome is not that surprising. This is Mark Gronowski's sixth year as a starting college QB.

Aren't other teams' players going to improve too? And Anthony Smith could opt to get another paycheck somewhere else. D. Taylor is relatively worthless in terms of helping us be better - you just can't rely on him. I don't think it's unlikely at all the someone comes after Drake and Koi. I...

True, but what about the ones that we miss on because they don't buy in? For example, before Drake Lindsey was committed, didn't we have a QB from Georgia as our commit? And didn't he decommit pretty quickly? Probably didn't wanna adhere to PJ's stupid rules. Yeah, I think being a new entry...

AT WHAT POINT DO YOU SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

??? Is this some movie reference or something I'm not old enough to get?

AT WHAT POINT DO YOU SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Wasn't Spencer Alvarez (offensive line from Columbia Heights) a 2* in 2020?

AT WHAT POINT DO YOU SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Jeez, I know the NCAA took our 96-97 accomplishments away, but that doesn't mean you have to. ;)

    Darius Taylor

Dude was probably 3 seconds late logging into one of his online classes and so now he's in Peej's dog house? Watch him portal out.

In hindsight, this outcome is not that surprising. This is Mark Gronowski's sixth year as a starting college QB.

Two things: 1) Could they have killed us if needed? Like, if the game was closer and we just had a big momentum score, could Iowa have just marched down the field and scored on us rushing the ball? 2) Kinda tied in with #1, but can we stop the run when needed? If not, I don't really care if...

It certainly wouldn't hurt for Peej to redo his contract for a mil less per season so we'd have more money for OC and DC. I still think his schtick limits the amount of talent we can bring in though. No way in heck would I ever play for a "rah rah" coach with all the crap you have to do...

Yeah, writing sympathy cards or whatever to the newspaper and waving goodbye to the women's hockey team isn't quite on par with preparing to win football games. PJ's schtick is really for actual college student-athletes, not semi-pro football players.

All Things P.J. Fleck Rumor Mill Thread - Listed as Candidate for Other Jobs

How much of it was Bielema? If he had stayed at WI it's probably a 2 horse race between us and them, with Arkansas not knowing much about a 3* recruit from the Twin Cities. That being said, he did generate some excitement there for a while. But not sure one goes from head coach in the SEC to...

Greatest individual sports achievement in Gopher history.

Janel McCarville versus Duke in the Elite 8. Picked up her 4th foul but then had to go out and play the final 12 minutes without fouling. She did and we won.

All Things Class of 2026 Gophers Football Recruiting Thread (Offers, Videos, Tweets, Rankings and More)

I don't think the "we" part is smart. If the athlete chooses to switch positions, fine. But to tell him one thing when you plan on another, that'll eventually find its way to high school coaches who will then not want Fleck coming to their practices. I interviewed for a software job once...

B1G Time: Overlook P.J. Fleck and Minnesota at your own peril, it's even worse than it looks at Wisconsin. - Tom Fornelli

As someone who put down money on nebraska simply winning, I can attest to this. I thought I had a sure thing after how we looked vs. Purdue.

SEC fines Texas A&M $50,000, issues public reprimand of Mike Elko for having player fake injury

Chip Kelly offense? We have a play clock to limit the max amount of time before the ball must be snapped. I wouldn't mind an analogous one to say the defense can try and grasp how the offense is lined up before they get to snap it.

    Friday Night Lights

I can totally see that if you're going to the game. For those who watch on TV, there's been plenty of times where I've looked forward to getting home and enjoying the game, versus the stuff I'd normally be watching. So I vote yes on Friday night games, but I can see why it's a pain if you go...

Wisky Fans calling it like they see it.....

I think the point was that there isn't talent elsewhere to compensate at all for losing our QB. In years past, when we had Mo and Big Dan and JMS etc, we could have gone to the backup QB and it wouldn't be as bad as going to the backup this year, is what I think the poster was trying to sink...

    Assistant Coaches

Sounds kinda like what Mason's annual new defensive coordinators would always say: "We're gonna simplify things and get the players reacting and playing fast." And it never worked. At some point you have to implement a B1G level scheme and either succeed or fail. Playing vanilla...I'd rather...

    Curt Cignetti

Like Norvell should have. He could have done something and had Memphis being a G5 borderline playoff team every year. Maybe he gets something done at FSU this year, but it would have been cool to see him stay and develop Memphis.
