Yeah, but the other two teams added are borderline top 25 teams. This year we will have played 14 Q1 games, last year only 9 in the regular season. Not only is the league deeper, we had a more difficult schedule.

When I say tougher, I mean there are more good teams. Last year the league sent 6 teams to the tournament. This year it's looking like 9/10 will. We also had to play MSU and Wisconsin twice, the two best teams in the league. Last year we only played Purdue, Illinois and Wisconsin once...

Yeah, no shit. We were pretty terrible in the OOC portion of the schedule. I am glad to have gotten this wrong, given the league is tougher than last year. Maybe the team being terrible at home this season will aid this staff to schedule more aggressively in the OOC next year.

Your impression would be incorrect. I've never rooted against the Gophers. I even said earlier in this thread I expect CBJ back. I am glad we have 7 B1G wins. I wish it meant something in terms of NCAA tournament aspirations but CBJ can't schedule and have this team perform well enough in OOC...

If playing in the B1GT actually meant something towards making the actual NCAA Tournament it would mean something. Unfortunately, for us it really doesn't. I'm glad it appears we will make it because I enjoy watching as much Gophers bball as possible, but unless we win it, it won't change much.

Unfortunately, Big Ten standing doesn't really mean anything. Last year we finished 12th out of 14 teams in the NET, and this year we are 17th out of 18 teams. His first 2 years we finished 13th and 14th respectively. Collectively, he's finished on avg, one spot higher than what his salary is...

2 Saturday's ago(the most recent data) the five games on ESPN avg out to a little over 1.5 million viewers. The highest rated CBB regular season game was a little over 5.5 million (Arkansas vs Illinois)

I think I've come to brace myself that CBJ is going to return next year, no matter how the rest of the year plays out. As much as the 5 Q1 wins is a really great mark, were still just 8-14 in Q's 1-3, which is overall pretty bad. He's gotta schedule and have the team perform better in the OOC...

It is crazy the difference between playing at home and on the road with this team.

If they finish 19-12 in the regular season, they should absolutely be in. They have wins over Michigan, UL, Zona, @Arkansas, Vandy and Miss State. I'd say 19-12 would pretty much be a lock at that point.

You have Wake Forest in that comfortably? They've only got one really good win and have taken on some terrible losses the last 2 weeks. I can't see any way the SEC ends up with just 10. I think 14 is more likely than 10 tbh. Good stuff though as always.
