In hindsight, this outcome is not that surprising. This is Mark Gronowski's sixth year as a starting college QB.

Gronowksi is a decent, but not great, passing QB. At both SDSU and Iowa, the biggest limitation was and is the pass catching talent. At SDSU, Mark was very effective until the 2024 season after his best pass catchers left. Even in 2024, his numbers improved markedly as the season progressed...

AT WHAT POINT DO YOU SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Nobody said that, but the original premise was in defense of the coaching staff, as if they had no hand in the shit product on the field.

All about Max Brosmer Making the Cut

I smell KOC and KAM sending a draft pick for some putz that isn't any good who then gets beat out in training camp next year by an UDFA.

AT WHAT POINT DO YOU SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Sure, but he was recruited by the coaching staff, handed the keys, coached all week on the field and in film, etc & etc. Players make boneheaded plays and one boneheaded play isn't necessarily a reflection of coaching but the whole body of work on Saturday wasn't just players making bad plays...

2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

Whether PJ would take another job certainly would come down to money. Are there openings at schools that could and would pay him more than he's making here? It seemed PJ was interested in the UCLA job until he figured out its a poverty program and couldn't pay him.

AT WHAT POINT DO YOU SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Is that not, at least sometimes, a reflection of coaching?

You know, the $3 or $4 million doesn't necessarily need to be paid to KC or Rossi. There are other coordinators.

Right. I don't think its reasonable to fire Fleck and I'm not one of the "this is as good as it gets" crowd. The fact of the matter is that he still wins more games than he loses, although the losses are so often so maddening. But I don't think its unreasonable to ask more of him and I also...

In hindsight, this outcome is not that surprising. This is Mark Gronowski's sixth year as a starting college QB.

I've said before that while Fleck's schtick drives me nuts, I'm all for it if the players buy in to it, and it seems that at the very least, his players do buy in. But while Fleck has put a few more guys in the NFL and is recruiting Minnesota better, I haven't seen a marked improvement in...

    This is a fireable offense

Do you live in Minneapolis or something? Are unreasonable expectations thoughtcrime where you live? This isn't an SDSU message board but if it were I'd tell you that despite losing the entire coaching staff and bringing in 67 new players, SDSU's performance Saturday night in a rivalry game...

    This is a fireable offense

I think #1 is a real problem. How many football speak, act, etc.like Fleck? I would think that most FB coaches find his bit unbearably obnoxious. And #2, of course money talks. It's embarrassing that Rutgers pays better than the U. I'm sure KC, etc., could swallow a bit more oily...

Coaches fired and or on hotseat

They are right. There's no way PJ's job is in jeopardy. He could lose out, including 50-0 to the skunks and his job is safe. Sure, PJ isn't a diversity hire, but look at how long BJ was given to motherf@%$ the MBB. The admin agrees, this is a good as it gets.

Cignetti Extended At IU - 8 Yrs, $93M

More than a few "Remember 2019" people that will defend Fleck to the end of the world crapping on a guy who has accomplished more in a year and half than PJ has in, I lose tra k because of year zero and covid, however many seasons.

Has NIL Helped or Hurt Gopher Football? (4+ years in)

Look no further than standings. Have we gone up, down or sideways? I think its the latter. I think that being able to offer some dollars to local kids has kept them home but that benefit is probably offset by not having the resources to attract and retain out state talent.
