    Devin Gardner

Never watched a game with him doing the color work before but I thought he did a good job. Didn't feel like he had to fill every instant between plays with his own voice. Of course, since the Gophers were playing so well, I liked what he was saying. Less can be more. Kind of tired of Tim Brando.

Tell me I shouldn't be worrying about Northwestern

I am thinking about past struggles at Dyche Stadium/Ryan Field. When they had grass it looked like it was long and the Gophers struggled, much like how Michigan did in that 1977 classic at Memorial Stadium. I am hoping the same thing does not happen at Wrigley Field in 3 weeks. How to replicate...

High Energy games at the Bank

It was 2009, the night Weber had a career night and outplayed Cousins. Duane Bennett also had an amazing game. Tow-Arnett took a huge shot over the middle and Bennett swooped in from out of nowhere to catch the ricochet and run about 50 yards for a touchdown.

Predict the Score Thread: Minnesota at Iowa, Battle of Floyd of Rosedale

Minnesota 12 Iowa 10 Perich returns a punt for a touchdown that counts.

15 years ago today, Tim Brewster was fired.

I will forever be grateful to Coach Horton for rebuilding the team's spirit to make possible closing, emotional wins at Illinois and on that raw day at home vs. Iowa. The seniors went out happy and it was great to see.

    Come From Behind Wins

Yes, AK came in and played well, giving us false hope for the future.

    Come From Behind Wins

That was Kill's team. It was the game where Boddy-Calhoun stole the ball from a Nebraska wide-out who was going into the end zone in the last minute. I remember thinking 'What?! We don't get guys who make plays like that at Minnesota!"

    I see 2 more wins

Yeah, but those Iowa teams won with a punishing defense, a solid running game and excellent special teams. They were so strong in these areas that they could get by with subpar quarterback play. We DO have a capable quarterback but winning with weak lines on both sides of the ball makes "winning...

    I see 2 more wins

Yes. I thought we could handle Northwestern 3 weeks ago but am now doubtful. Maybe they beat Penn State because the Lions quit on their coach that day but it's a road game and we have so many problems.

    OT Games

Yes, that was the covid season. The Gophers did not have a true kicker on the roster and a kid who had never kicked since high school was given the job, with predictable results.

No, that catastrophe was in the 2001 game.

    OT Games

I was at that game and Harris was running right toward me as I was waving him forward. I remember a non-athletic kicker or holder chasing him awkwardly with flailing arms...and then the ball came out. They made Curtis Painter look like Drew Brees that night, but then that team made every...

    OT Games

Yes, the 2005 Purdue game was the one where Cupito threw a pick 6 to put the Gophers down 28-20 in the 4th quarter. He led them back to score and got the 2-point conversion on an option play, which was breath-taking because it did not exactly fit his skill set. Purdue went up in OT with a...

    OT Games

No, that was 2001. In this game Purdue was backed up at their 3-yard line with about 5 seconds left and somehow had time to complete a LONG pass to set up a tying field goal.

Summarize the Gophers win over Purdue in 1 sentence

"mailed it in" suggests they were not trying. Did not seem that way to me

Predict the Score Thread: Purdue at Minnesota

I loved that game! Scott Eckers, Omar Douglas, Mike Alstott. Just crazy.
