    Lemeke Brockington is our guy

I think Smith has a ton of potential as a deep threat, but I agree that we are missing a stronger guy who can win the 50/50s. Rashod Bateman was a better WR than Tyler Johnson, but Johnson always seemed to come up big in key moments. I don't know if we will ever have a tandem like that again...

    Lemeke Brockington is our guy

Brockington and Smith have really been the only bright lights in the WR corps. If Fleck plans on elevating Lindsey's game, he's going to need to beef up the wide-out contingent.

2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

A really bad match. I don't think he's a terrible coach but those programs in the SEC with high expectations every year (deluded or not) are year-round pressure cookers and every move you make is dissected over and over and over and over . . .

Coaches fired and or on hotseat

It's even worse than the pros because teams can't veto a player's move due to a multi-year deal.

Post Game Thread: Hawkeyes Humiliate Gophers

It's something I've noticed over the years and I will admit it doesn't necessarily translate to the bottom line in terms of performance, but Iowa is just so much more "sudden" to the ball than the Gophers under Fleck. We were a little more aggressive under Kill, but it didn't make a lot of...

Post Game Thread: Hawkeyes Humiliate Gophers

It was going to be a transition year for sure, but it seems like a year when the foundation seems to be teetering. I posted earlier that there just shouldn't be a season when there is this much turnover on the O-line and expect to succeed on a consistent basis.

Post Game Thread: Hawkeyes Humiliate Gophers

Does Iowa have a big NIL budget? I honestly don't know. I think Fleck has used Ferentz as the model to emulate, but you can't be consistent if you are bringing in senior transfers like Ray and Marshall to start on the O-line and expect to establish and maintain consistency. And that's not a...

Post Game Thread: Hawkeyes Humiliate Gophers

I don't know if they quit, but they were physically dominated on both lines and that is going to have to change if the program is going to be in the upper tier of the conference consistently. I don't mind losing a close or even moderately close game to anyone, but it's no fun to watch your team...

Yeah but if the refs hadn't screwed up the gift spot they gave to NW in the third quarater, it wouldn't have mattered. Bad reffing all around that screwed both teams.

What a horsecrap call on the spot that gave Northwestern a first down.

I remember Van Dyne catching a long pass from Jacob Clark and thinking "Bart Starr to Boyd Dowler! Two future first-rounders!" I had quit drinking a couple of decades earlier, so I can't chalk it up to drunken rambling.

Greatest individual sports achievement in Gopher history.

I once saw Dave Winfield hit a line-drive triple to right-center field that probably never got more than 10 feet off the ground. Hardest ball I have even seen hit. I think the ones you posted are more in the vein of what you are looking for on this thread.

Is this Badgers season among the worst of the century in the Big Ten?

A lot of one-score games that year and as much as I didn't hold Brewster responsible for everything that went wrong, I think his lack of experience (and trying to put square pegs in round holes with a completely new system) showed up throughout the season. Wisconsin has had injury issues, but I...

ABC producer: Anybody pretending this is acceptable against a joke of a program is kidding themselves. Minnesota is and always will be a joke.

Agree. There's the saying that goes "He's a bastard, but he's our bastard" that probably sums up how a solid percentage of the Cornhusker fan base felt about Pelini until he dumped on the fans during an interview (or maybe it was just a hot mic). There's no question that the guy could coach...

ABC producer: Anybody pretending this is acceptable against a joke of a program is kidding themselves. Minnesota is and always will be a joke.

Agree. There's a recency bias when looking at the state of the Cornhuskers. Solich had a .753 winning percentage, but had trouble winning the Big 12 so they let him go after the 2023 season. They hired Bill Callahan and he didn't do as well and they fired him after three seasons. Bo Pelini...

I think the big difference between tOSU's trouncing of us and their trouncing of Wisconsin is that Wisconsin's defense held up a little better for some reason. tOSU just speed-boated us.
