A Record that may stand forever

I just looked over Ferentz's season by season record. He's been even more consistent than I thought. If I counted right, he has completed 26 B1G seasons. He's only had 5 losing B1G records and only 5 more .500 ones. So 16 winning B1G seasons. With that kind of run, its crazy to think it feels...

A Record that may stand forever

Ferentz's winning percentage at Iowa is marginally higher than Fleck’s (62.3 vs 60). So PJ would either need to overtake Ferentz's percentage (and coach a long time) or coach for a longer time at MN than Kirk does at Iowa.

    Gophers make 2026 B1G tourney!!!

I know its a very long shot, but if an 18th place big ten team managed to make the NCAA Tourney by running off 6 wins in 6 days, that would be such a fun story to follow

When's the banner raising ceremony going to be? I want to make sure to get tickets to that game!

Minnesota Native, Red Hot Chili Peppers Drummer Chad Smith to Play at Homecoming; Smith will join Minnesota Marching Band at halftime performance

Our chili is going to be hot that game! (I was stunned that eight posts in this joke hadn't been made yet)

What grade would you give the coaches in the loss at Cal?

We've talked a lot about the strange decision to go with the trick play. In the first half of the Vikings game, KOC took two significant gambles. One worked and one didn't, but I thought they were both good risks to take and made situational sense. We went for it on fourth and inches in our own...

What grade would you give the coaches in the loss at Cal?

Ideally, a boss recognizes the strengths and personalities of their subordinates and puts them in a position to be successful. Whenever ive been in a management role, my main mantra was that I wanted to know my people well enough to be the manager each of them needed, not expect them to be...

Post Game Thread: Gophers Lose a Very Winnable Game at Cal

That's the most frustrating thing for me. For all of the warts in our play (including Koi's punt return issues), I think we were in a position to win but for some unforced and bizarre coaching errors. Giving away the 3 points before half was huge and the red carpet to that field goal was laid...

    Koi Perich ...

That might be true. At the same time, id expect Koi to know better than to fair catch inside the five and try to field that ground ball even if he were also getting reps at long snapper, punter, right guard, and offensive coordinator. Speaking of which, pretty sure he would have been an upgrade...

What grade would you give the coaches in the loss at Cal?

Big F. Head scratching dumb decisions (trick play, RUTM in bad situations, three man rush too often and directly led to the FG going into the half)

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT CAL BATTLE OF THE “GOLDENS” GOLD-OUT IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

The Vikings break my heart plenty over the years with their losses, but I dont find myself wondering "what the heck was KOC thinking there?" nearly as often i do with Fleck

Im not certain our DC has ever watched a football game before.

... it would be only marginally worse than the decision to go with that trick play earlier.

There is a lot of responsibility to go around, but offensive and defensive play calling have both been horrendous.

Im more confident in what Drake can do than what our OC can do.

Not if we dont do something stupid like give up a big gain on the first play while rushing only three.

Is this where we take three kneels to try to burn clock so we can kick a field goal without giving cal the ball back?

There is a range of reasonableness between gutless and reckless.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT CAL BATTLE OF THE “GOLDENS” GOLD-OUT IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

A bad unforced special teams mistake sets the offense up with bad field position. Gutless play calling on offense contributes to giving them good field position. Then porous defense let's them into the endzone way too easily. I think this is what they call complimentary football across all three...

Smart play by Koi. If he hadn't fair caught it inside the five, we were in danger of Cal downing it inside the five.
