72 or 76 team NCAA tournament.....NCAA determined to ruin one of the best things in sports.

In theory, yes, but we've already sort of killed that dream. I don't think last year is going to be an aberration. It's going to be really difficult for the mid-major programs to field teams that could go on any sort of run because all of their best players have already gotten called up to the...

All Things Minnesota at Oregon Road Game Thread

For these late games in mid/late November, I wish the Big 10 would try to schedule it for a football game on Friday night and a basketball game on Saturday (when possible).

    Tyson to Minnesota?

The other thing this really helps is the ability to switch every where on defense.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS - The Last of Us Discussion

Has anyone else seen it? I thought Season 1 was pretty good but Season 2 struggled, in my opinion. I played the first game, so I was probably a bit harsh in the same way "the book was better" people can be annoying. My issues with it weren't what a lot of people complained about - I don't...

    All Things Movie/Documentary Reviews/Recommendations Thread

You know, I know people pissed off on both sides of this one - which maybe makes it interesting. I don't know. It was decent but to me it was pretty cut and dry.

    Leach Eligible for HOF

I think the Air Raid system is the basis for most modern offenses - especially in college football. I don't know the exact amount of that is attributed to Mike Leach personally, but I don't think when you evaluate the impact of that offense it makes sense to just look at Mike Leach's teams he...

Still No Statement from Ben Johnson

Yep and he had the leverage to get that buyout because of his success at Iowa State.

    NEW MUSIC

This is great. For whatever reason, I've never been able to get into Jason Isbell - I've tried and seen him numerous times, but this is great.

Still No Statement from Ben Johnson

The likely is implied. How would I possibly know the inner workings of Ben Johnson's thought process. Heck of a "gotcha" there. No one has argued he "owes" us anything. The entire discussion is whether he should make a statement like an adult. I'm sure many of us do many things in life that we...

It's college sports, it's all irrelevant.

Denver Broncos have a view on transfers

Bo Nix isn't just a regular transfer QB. This would be like if Tanner Morgan had a son who grew up going to every Gopher game, we enrolled at the U and played for three seasons and then left to chase a bag (even though he comes from a really wealthy family). I don't blame him for doing it, it...

Denver Broncos have a view on transfers

Payton is one of those liars and does it for no reason whatsoever.

Still No Statement from Ben Johnson

Also: Fred Hoiberg 37-82 (.311) and 1 NCAA Tournament appearance. He is also 28-32 the last three seasons. Ben Johnson 22-57 (.278) and 0 NCAA Tournaments. Hoiberg's been real bad at Nebraska, Ben was a lot worse.

Still No Statement from Ben Johnson

That mindset is one of the reasons he wasn't successful. I agree with you that he feels he got shafted, but that's the problem. He was historically unsuccessful, he was paid more than he'll ever get paid again, and he had the worst resume of anyone I've ever seen get that kind of opportunity and...

Big Ten trojan horse lures SEC toward lame College Football Playoff format

I am not being a sore loser, but I also think it was more of a willingness to bend the rules as well. I think Ohio State played SEC's brand of football, but I don't think the rest of the Big 10 did - at least not to the levels of the SEC. When everyone can start paying, things started evening out.

    Transfer Data

Agreed. This data is sort of a self fulfilling prophecy. I am sure if you look at the data of players who go to universities outside of the P5 out of HS and compare the ones who portal up with the ones who do not, the players who portal up are more likely to play in the NFL.

    2025 Transfer Portal Watch

I think this can be the case if you bring in the wrong guys but if you bring in the right guys, I think the teammates will want that mercenary. They want to win. They want to showcase their abilities. I'm thinking Max Brosmer probably got paid more than most people and he is sort of the...

Former Washburn player and QB guru Quincy Avery star of new Hulu documentary (son of Wendell Avery, a Minnesota Golden Gophers quarterback)

Sometimes if the guys are really talented when they are young, the coaches will take them on for free as advertisements to sell their services to other players/camps.
