All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Thought we had signed another QB a while ago? Maybe released him in some other move. Will Brosmer be the backup or will they sign someone else to do that and keep the undrafted rookie as 3rd?

You'd rather Brosmer then get smashed and injured too?

    This is a fireable offense

OK, but as soon as it's a player from a state outside the north central region of the country .... why would they come to Minnesota? When they have to drive/fly past 10-15 Big Ten/P4 schools to get here? It's a factor. Until/unless there is a draft, that evenly spreads out the top talent in...

Not that I need to tell you or anyone this, but Roseville has a lot of non-football playing minorities in its large enrollment. For better or worse, it's mostly whites, blacks, and pacific islanders that play American football. I don't know why the other ethnicities have no interest in the...

    This is a fireable offense

I'm bored with your posts. Literally every single game that the Vikings or Gophers lose, you just blather out that we're slow, that our receivers don't get open, and/or that our lines suck. You provide zero evidence. You provide zero reasoning. You act like the loss or that high-level stats...

    This is a fireable offense

There needs to be year round, pads off, training and "competition" somehow for football. 7-on-7 league, at least. Or even just year round training for quarterbacks and receivers. Maybe somehow do something for lineman too. Tough to have that level of contact all year. But how does hockey...

    This is a fireable offense

We're going to end up either 7-5 or 8-4, depending on the game at Wrigley. Obviously there are no guarantees in life but we should continue winning at home, where we've won all year, against Mich St and Wisconsin. We'll lose at Oregon. 8-4 gets us either the Las Vegas Bowl or the Music City...

All Things 2025 College Football D2 and D3 Thread

What funding is needed to jump from NSIC to Summit League (low-major)? I'm honestly asking. I don't feel like it should be a massive jump. Also think Mankato recently announced an upgrade in athletic facilitiess? Other than travel, Pioneer League football might actually be cheaper to run than...

The Athletic: College football fans may need to get used to losing more often. Is anyone ready?

What would be the two teams you add, if we say that Notre Dame is off the table, and can only add Big 12 or ACC teams? I'd go Stanford and Arizona State. These would be my divisions: Wash / Ore / Stan / USC / UCLA AZ St / Neb / Minn / Wisc / Iowa Ill / NW / IU / Purdue / Ohio St Rutgers /...

The Athletic: College football fans may need to get used to losing more often. Is anyone ready?

Why, out of curiosity? I guess it would be one thing if the proposal would be for playing each of the 4 div teams home and home like in the NFL. If we went to a full on 12 game Big Ten schedule as the regular season, you still wouldn't even be able to play a full other division. But 13 would...

Lot of SEC schools are not in big media markets. End of the day, it's the TV viewership your conf games bring. SEC's games have huge viewership, so they can command huge $$$.

Augustana having a nice season. They looking to follow in St Thomas footsteps (Summit + NCHC) in the future?

So where we all at 3 games in?

I know you're not updating your original format to reflect the actual reality of the season as it unfolds. But short of bad injuries I don't see any way the last two home games are not in the "wins" section. Pretty incredible to think about winning every home game and losing every road game...

    Darius Taylor

Not that there was any doubt, but PJ confirmed it post-game, insomuch that he ever "confirms" anything having to do with injuries. Darius Taylor had the first carry and then nothing after. Was that an injury or a game situation? PJ Fleck: Yeah, the medical staff will take care of all that, and...

    This is a fireable offense

Why do you have a right to expect 9 or 10 win seasons, in the new Big Ten, going forward like that can be a regular thing for a program like Minnesota? I would love to hear the reasoning for that. There is no right or wrong answer, I just want to know the reasoning. By the way, I see SDSU got...

I disagree that viewpoint holds water. $10M is still $10M. We can agree to disagree

What grade would you give the Gophers coaches and players in Iowa loss?

Bold: thoughts on Nebraska game, then? That's a Nebraska team that just beat NW, who beat Purdue

Loved this post ... except the "ho hum" crap. Going 8-4 is not a "ho hum" season. You aren't realistic if you really expect a 10, even 9, win season to be a regular thing in the new Big Ten.

The original post I quoted said "Jerry Jones a notoriously cheap person". I don't think that holds water when giving away $10M to you alma mater.
