Will the Gophers be ranked in the Top 25 this season?

they won't be if they don't beat Iowa. I suppose if they lost to Iowa and rant the table maybe they would but I don't think there's any chance they beat Oregon if they can't beat Iowa.

That is an issue with schools up that direction at some schools where they have more of one or the other by a significant margin. I want to say there was a year in there a while back that Mahnomen where their senior and junior classes had like 70% girls. So if I remember correctly they were...

Yeah, he is arguing a null point. The MSHSL has rules for calculating what the enrollment is for purposes of trying to be fair. Like any system there may be cases where things don't work as intended but like I said above these same adjustments are given to many other schools as well, not just...

    Whatever. Just beat Iowa.

IDK even remember, probably over 25 years which is far back as I can remember. I'm 50 and I'm not entirely sure they have done it since I was old enough to remember. EDIT: went and looked it up, It was 1990. I guess I was like 15 at the time 😂maybe.

    2025 Bowl Projection Tracker

Pretty interesting situation they're in after beating Nebraska. 9 wins is on the table, though will have to take care of Iowa to get there. But 8 wins should be doable now. Unfortunately, 8 probably puts you in some second rate bowl and 9 might get you a good bowl (relative to what they seem...

    Whatever. Just beat Iowa.

Beat Iowa, Beat Wisconsin and whatever happens the rest of this season I can deal with.

Is this Badgers season among the worst of the century in the Big Ten?

I'm far from confident enough in the Gophers to think any team they play is a sure win. They are not that level but I'm optimistic that they will win if they play well. On paper they should win but paper don't win games.

Pretty much. From my time around GH it seems like this is not the only thread that wanders around between games.:D

And where are these real numbers coming from? Only place that I have seen that says 364 or anything near that for 2025 when I look around is US News which is not really an accurate source for current enrollment data. Usually the MSHSL enrollment list is the raw enrollment then any adjustments...

I believe PIllager's enrollment for 2024 was 298 and 322 for 2025, not 364. I know that there has been an adjustment to that based on the number of kids that would receive free lunch due to income. So I'm assuming that's why they made it under the AA limit. And my understanding is that most...

    I see 2 more wins

I was thinking they might be if Iowa lost to Penn St, but that didn't happen.

Here is the video of the knife incident during the Kansas - Texas Tech game. Someone on Kansas’ staff intentionally drops a knife.

I'm not even following what the issue is. Staffer carries a pocketknife, somehow it falls out his pocket and it's a huge deal? Sounds like someone things it was thrown on the field or dropped on purpose but I don't see any evidence of either of those. Just the usual people choosing to get...

Were there some teams that opted to play up that decided to go back down for this season? I think there are 6 teams in all 4A sections now, there used to be only 5. I didn't really pay attention to any movement that way this year, i guess. EDIT: looking like Maybe only 32 in 6A & 5A. 49 in...

One thing about 4A is there may be some favorites but a lot of odd crossover game scores too. I would not be surprised if neither Marshall or Byron endup in the prep bowl. Like Orono seems like they should have a better record than they do. Rocori and Hutch playing a very close game but Hutch...

I'm thinking section 2 is the power Section this year. Heck, Hutch is 4-4 but they are probably better than a few of the teams that are going to make it to state and probably a good match most of the rest. I kinda feel like that winner of the Hutch vs St. Peter game is a potential spoiler...

IDK, how scheduling works these days I guess. I know it used be you had to play X number of conference games, X number of section games or something like that but doesn't seem that way anymore. But yeah, St. Peter is about an hour from Hutch I think. 1h 45m to Becker, little over an hour to...

For sure, I bet St. Peter wants to go in to the playoffs and put a beating on Hutch to show they deserved a higher seed and then they want to beat Marshall and Rocori too to further the point. Should be interesting to watch, but I think I would probably favor Hutch a little in that game but...

2025 Minnesota High School Football Thread

Yeah, I guess if you play a schedule like that in any class where you play almost all smaller class teams you know you're setting yourself up for seeding issues and probably have to win out to get a good seed. Maybe fair, maybe not fair but that's the way it is.

Yeah, definitely has to have to do with the schedule. Hutch might be undefeated if they play that schedule. I think they did play New Ulm who is in the section though. I'm not sure how that all works, maybe you're supposed to play a certain number of games in the section. Everyone but New Ulm...

Some interesting seedings in class 4A: Hutch (4-4) getting the 4 seed and a home game over St. Peter (7-1). . I'm mildly surprised with this one. On one hand, yes, Hutch played the far superior schedule having played two of the top 5 teams in the class, losing to Rocori in a very close game...
