"If Minnesota wants to entertain a modicum of hope, it must beat Nebraska."

We were 29-6-2 against Nebraska from 1900-1960 Then 0-14 from 1961 until 2000 (ouch) and most of those were with Nebraska at it's peak and us at some of our worst. Since they joined the B1G we're 8-5. If you haven't seen this site, it's a lot of fun to look at...

Fleck after watching OSU film: "There's so much good in that film. It gets covered up by the score, but there's a lot of good to pull from that game."

or bothered to show up for the first half.........stop blaming this game on the refs. Show up for all four quarters, then, sure, blame the refs.

Fleck after watching OSU film: "There's so much good in that film. It gets covered up by the score, but there's a lot of good to pull from that game."

There is coach speak. Then there is the lexicon of PJ Fleck. While intended to be the same, they are not. Coach speak is all generally the same. Very few coaches take it up a notch. PJ's the only one that takes it up seven notches. I agree the only thing that matters is the players hear from...

Or take the Green Line East after the game and grab a night cap in St. Paul and the Lyft/Uber back to the MOA.

"If Minnesota wants to entertain a modicum of hope, it must beat Nebraska."

It is 4 games. We've won the last 5 matchups, last one in 2023. Eight of the last 11. But Scott Frost ain't walking through that door next week.......

Fleck after watching OSU film: "There's so much good in that film. It gets covered up by the score, but there's a lot of good to pull from that game."

Drake had a higher QBR than Arch did against the Buckeye defense. I get your point. How he talks to the team is critical this week. There are ways to make the same points without insulting the intelligence of the team and fans, but this is PJ being PJ. We really need to get him a copy of the...

I'm sick and tired of losing to Purdue!

This game will depend on the secondary and the DL. I expect our offense will be able to move the ball, and that if we get a lead, we'll turtle and hope to win. If we can get a few stops against Purdue, that should be enough. I was at the 59 - 56 victory over Purdue at the dome in 1993. The...

This Gophers team is worse than last year. Next year's team will be better. Agree or disagree?

Continuity can be good. Hanging on to Limegrover because of continuity held Kill back. Some change can keep the program from getting stagnant as well. We have had more than our fair share under Fleck. It was similar with Brewster.

Five takeaways from Gophers coach P.J. Fleck’s news conference: Back to fundamentals

Doing the math, we "only" missed 14 tackles vs. tOSU, meaning we averaged 15.5 missed tackles between Rutgers and Cal. That is more concerning to me than missing 14 tackles against tOSU. Maybe the quote on Violent was that we're violently bad at tackling. Again.

Fleck: “I’m proud of our players fight. We didn’t turn the ball over which is really positive for us…We have a really good football team though.”

Not advocating getting rid of Fleck. I don't think that's happening, regardless of what I think. Even if it was the right thing for us right now, I'm not sure we can trust our incompetent AD to make a hire that will take the next step, even if the Admin wanted that to happen (which they don't)...

The Athletic: Is Arch Manning college football’s first flop? Why his slow start feels unprecedented

Check out Uncle Peyton's numbers from his first year. It's not apples to apples, but even if his last name is Manning, he needs time to grow. He didn't play much for two years. I certainly expect that Drake will be a different quarterback next year after going through this season, but he...

Fleck: “I’m proud of our players fight. We didn’t turn the ball over which is really positive for us…We have a really good football team though.”

All teams have bad losses. Never said they didn't. I know that just from my time as a fan of the Gophers. I've seen a lot of them. A couple of bad losses? You're not being honest if you look at that list and only see a couple of bad losses. The trio from 2023 is more than a couple by...

Fleck: “I’m proud of our players fight. We didn’t turn the ball over which is really positive for us…We have a really good football team though.”

You're right. And I didn't say that the only acceptable answer is that Fleck would have won all 13 of these games, even though I think he could have (a few are completely inexcusable). Every team loses games that defy explanation, especially in College Football. I did say he could have and...

the offensive and defensive lines are as bad as they've been under Fleck

Some of this is scheme and the offensive philosophy. You don't control the TOP with big plays. The play calling could be interpreted as focused on 5-yard gains vs. home runs.
