I'm guessing not, down the line if say a womans basketball team is earning a much higher piece of total revenue than they recieve in payouts there will be lawsuits.
Shouldn't this be the start to trimming some of the non revenue sports. I just don't get the idea of doing some of the financial games to continue funding programs while going in debt. 20 million or whatever it is gone from your budget is going to be tough to absorb.
I was surprised by Grove's athleticism in the minor minutes he got in the preseason games last year. He's got good size and looked like he belongs in the B1G based on that. I have no idea on his basketball skills but he is one guy that I hope sticks around. I doubt Reader ever plays meaningful...
On one of his first teams he refused to play Paul Carter because of a few defensive deficiencies, not terrible but didn't meet his standards even though the offensive flow was night and day better when he was on the court. He just valued defense more.
NBA drafts on potential, maybe the Duke freshman were a little further along in their development than the Rutgers freshman. In three years it won't matter anyhow, where they go from here will be what's important.
These kids have agents now that are pushing them towards the best financial deal they can get. As his value in the market place improved I'm sure he was advised to explore different oppertunities. Ben may have been in a better position to retain him because he was in on him early before anyone...
Interesting to see where he ends up, sounds like he is getting interest from the likes of Kentucky, BYU, Purdue. Maybe his experience at NC soured him on the big name schools.
After Florida won the title a reporter asked a couple of the players what their first class would be when they got back on campus, none of them could answer the question.
Even if they gave the bottom seven on the roster 300k each they would still have eight to ten million left over to pay the top eight. Probably only around 15 programs that can do that though.
CBS sports is reporting that TT has a minimum of 10 million in NIL money this recruiting cycle. Sounds like it was a done deal before he decommited to me.
