Another thing that people fail to be consistent on is analyzing Claeys and Kill as two different people. If kill gets credit for Claeys’ stuff then that means Claeys was an interim coach and nobody should be made he was let go If he was a real coach then you can credit kill with Claeys’...

    This is a fireable offense

I could see gophers going 8-4 I could see them going 5-7 I would be surprised by anything inside of that range

There are a whole bunch of spring 2016 signings that people credit to kill sometimes that kill didn’t sign nor coach Offense and defense. impossible to know how it turns out

There were nice pieces on the roster. It was a miracle that fleck recruited them back from leaving. And some of those pieces like AWJr graduated the spring of 2016. Kill left the program in 2015 fall. I give zero credit to kill for AWJr and all the credit to Claeys and Sawvel for landing him...

Pretty crazy that team was on the goal line but only went 8-4 the year before Glad we got rid of Claeys

I don’t really think anyone hates either of them. But plenty love to complain.

I think everyone would take that. And then once they had that they’d want more. See Wisconsin fans See Iowa fans who have wanted Ferentz fired for football reasons

He stopped coaching mid season. Is that better? And because he stopped coaching mid season he avoided having his second worst season year 5 He also never coached a roster that was ever all his own at Minnesota for a full season. If I change the word quit to stopped does it help?

I didn’t complain about the job he did?

Yes. So he quit coaching mid year. But in your comparison you rewarded him for not ever coaching a team he fully recruited for a full season. You even said he got better and better every year when his last season was his second worst.

Imo none of the mockery kill gets has anything to do with his on field results and everything to do with acting like a middle schooler in the 2-3 years after fleck was hired.

That’s all well and good. Happy for him. He did good things for the program.

AT WHAT POINT DO YOU SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

If your personal happiness is really contingent on the results of gopher football you needed to find a new team in about 1975

Kill did quit during a losing season He had had the same issues before and didn’t quit. He coached again after this. Unless you have some hard information he was forced into retirement I can’t say he was. Kill has never even claimed anyone said he had to go. Im not saying he quit like he has a...

lol. Kill quit during a losing season and didn’t stick around long enough to ever have a season with zero holdovers from the last coach…wait he did. And the team went 5-7 and he quit mid season. You’re faulting fleck for fielding a losing season with all his players but not going to fault kill...

I actually think that’s the number one reason to. To the casual community member with no more conference they don’t really have a measure of success anymore other than make USBank stadium. People don’t care you were a 2 seed. Did you make the big stadium? I also think playing the quarterfinals...

Yeah. He was exactly what the program needed at the time the program got him. I think sometimes people forget that he was coach for only 5 years. 3-9 6-7 8-5 8-5 4-3 (6-7) He was good because of what the program needed at the time When he left He was hitting the same ceiling fleck is hitting...
