Neal: Gophers’ unimpressive victory was survival rather than a bounceback

Not gonna lie, Wren, the Walrus needs to give us one of those rants, a good tongue lashing about why firing coaches is not a good idea. He wasn't wrong back in the day with Mason, and he isn't wrong now. Big 10 wins matter, and going 1 - 0 each week is the goal. Not gonna speak for him though...

Our defense has potential next year - Perich, Brown, Kingsbury, Karmo, etc.

Pretty sure Kissayi played Saturday. He has natural size and height as a defensive end, he looks like he can still help this season as a rotational guy.

Schwerzler: PJ Fleck Learns Nothing; Gophers Bring Embarrassment Home

Where is the Golden douchebag award for this Ted guy, I know we have the dink-o-meter but Ted is worthy of a GD trophy. Coaching at the Univetsity of Minnesota no sure thing, not when the the coaching staff has to make chicken soup out of chicken sh!t on the football field with injury's and the...

Our defense has potential next year - Perich, Brown, Kingsbury, Karmo, etc.

I really like Kerry Brown and Aiden Gousby as cover guy's this year, I think both safeties playing well. Nestor made two plays yesterday where if he doesn't shed his block and stand his ground, both plays are out the gate for even bigger gains.

Postgame comments from Coach Fleck, Drake Lindsey, Jameson Geers, Jaxon Howard and Maverick Baranowski.

Agreed he is taken for granted some PJ, but we have a quality head coach, who is a man of substance. It's not for show, this coach lives his "row the boat" values and culture in the community. There are some high character dudes in the program like Anthony Smith #0. That guy is going to be a...

    FIRE GREG HARBAUGH

We need someone with Koii Perich athletic ability and speed on offense. Honestly I would be ok with having Perich focus more on playing on offense, take him off special teams and defense more to play some offensive series. You throw him a smoke screen or tunnel, he may break off a big play due...

    Johnathan Yuhas

    Yuhas was visibly wasted.

    FIRE GREG HARBAUGH

This has been my biggest frustration with the offense all year, running similar looks and formations play after play with little variation or wrinkles or changes from week to week This makes the Gophers tendencies easily discernable on film, and for the defense to stack defenders. I realize we...

Post Game Thread: Gophers Gutsy in Comeback Win, Bowl Eligible!

Gophers physically and mentally beat up and dinged up team. This bye week coming up could not have arrived at a better time. This teams needs a break and a breather. A win is a win, are there mistakes and errors yes, but this Gophers team has a lot of fight and will in them to get better. We...

Describe Gophers win over MSU in 1 sentence

Winning a game is still much better than losing a game, the Gophers battled hard. Give the Gophers credit, they fought hard, and prevailed.

The difference in the last two weeks.

It was one bad game, where things snowballed, from turnovers, to 3 and out's to giving up a score early, to the shanked punt to the punt return for a touchdown. You learn from it and fix what you can. We were missing some people in the Secondary, Geralds in particular, Nestor got hurt and the WR...

Mallory Heyer announces she's leaving Gophers program

Maybe playing for Fairfield and coach Carly Thibault is an option for Heyer. It's a good academic school with good graduate programs, not saying this will happen, but I could see it being a possibility. Wish Heyer well at her next school.

In hindsight, this outcome is not that surprising. This is Mark Gronowski's sixth year as a starting college QB.

With Iowa's dominant defense, they even held Cignatti and Indiana to a low score, they don't need Gronowski to single handedly beat teams. Just to not turn it over and move the chains. That punt return guy is crazy fast and they got him as a walk on. Iowa has a great defense. Phil Parker is...

Minnesota Golden Gophers in the NFL - 2025

Nah, to me the risk of Injury for Smith is too high to not go to NFL draft. You only get so many years to be a professional athlete. Anthony Smith is ready for NFL.

    This is a fireable offense

Biggest difference in yesterday's game was OL play and defensive back play. Iowa's Oline play was great and getting to the next level on the linebackers. Gopher's QB really struggled yesterday, he was staring down receivers and really struggled to throw to the correct read. QB was just really...

Coaches fired and or on hotseat

Exactly, outside of the old guard McNamara donors and Carlson's from the old day's we do not have anyone.

    This is a fireable offense

I didn't say that, Fleck is well compensated, highest paid public employee in the State. He should be embarrassed by how bad all facets of the Iowa game were played. What I am bored with is how we lack an administration at the U that consistently invest in Football, basketball, Hockey. Men's...

    This is a fireable offense

This is a systemic University of Minnesota problem, my post isn't directed at you directly, but I get a kick out out of all this fire the coach talk, folks you heard it here folks we accept mediocrity, stomp your feet, throw up your hands up folks, that like to say Minnesota just accepts...

All Things P.J. Fleck Rumor Mill Thread - Listed as Candidate for Other Jobs
