Durkin has a similar build and game to Jamison Battle.

Which Gophers did you miss on badly - you thought XYZ Gopher would be much better or much worse?

Rodney averaged 4.3 ppg as a freshmen. He went 4.3, 6.8, 12.2, then 10.1. I didnt see him in high school, and I don't know his recruiting ranking, but I would get sick of commentators falling over themselves about his dunks. He had plenty to work on to become a solid player (ball handling...

Top 6 Big Ten running backs, per ESPN. (5. Darius Taylor, MN)

For some perspective and appreciation. Taylor has 1785 yards through 2 seasons, if you double that to 3,570, he would pass M. Barber for 6th all time. Double his 15 rushing TD's to 30 and he would pass Rodney Smith for 7th. The gophers haven't thrown to their RB's much in the past, so his...

CFN: Minnesota Football Preview 2025: Can PJ Fleck Take Gophers Higher? (It’s the 9th year of the Fleck era. Is there something more than this?)

Early Creed, the first album was definitely hard rock/metal (Torn, My own Prison) with just a few ballads (One, What's this Life for). I saw Nickelback early on when you heard there heavier songs on modern rock stations too. Then Creed, on the second and third albums, there were tons of...

Which Gophers did you miss on badly - you thought XYZ Gopher would be much better or much worse?

2009-2010 Team, the parts were better than the team. It had wing scorers Westbrook and Hoffarber and D joseph, center's Sampson and Colt, and Freshmen Rodney W., Cobbs, Nolen, and it had super defender Damian Johnson who became better than I expected. 10 solid players but the team was an enigma...

CFN: Minnesota Football Preview 2025: Can PJ Fleck Take Gophers Higher? (It’s the 9th year of the Fleck era. Is there something more than this?)

I agree that the difference is Iowa usually has the better offensive and defensive lines. We might have better skill players certain years.

CFN: Minnesota Football Preview 2025: Can PJ Fleck Take Gophers Higher? (It’s the 9th year of the Fleck era. Is there something more than this?)

If Brosmer had another season, I'd say 9-3. One of the easiest schedules I have seen. Ohio St., Oregon, and at Iowa as losses. Starting a redshirt freshman it's really hard to say. I love the pass first offense when warranted. I also think nothing helps a new young QB, then a solid running...

Big Ten Football: Biggest post-spring concerns for every team (Minnesota — Who will emerge as the top wide receiver?)

While I am also worried about the WR's, I feel the emergence of TE Jameson Geers hasnt gotten enough mention. The 6-6 250lb Sr to be had a very nice season. As a soph he only had 2 receptions for 10 yards. Last year he broke out for 28 catches for 290 yards, and 4 Td's! The second most...

BT Powerhouse: Minnesota Basketball Begins New Era Under Niko Medved Amid Massive Roster Overhaul

Pretty bad article. J Crocker-J is not a wing, he is a pf, 4 guy. He didn't play limited minutes. He was 5th on the team. Leaving out probable starter Asuma as a talking point is quite the omission. BJ Omot didn't play limited minutes, 26 a game. He could have stated he only played in 4...

    Luka

I can't think of another player who is so good on offense, and absolutely bad on defense. He definitely should lose some weight and get better conditioned.

Colorado State heading into last year

Last year's team had only 2 good individual defenders: Odukale and Asuma, and Asuma was a freshman. I am not an analytics guy, just the eye test. Fox and Garcia were bad defensive rebounders. And the team overall lacked muscle and athleticism, even though it was a veteran team. I have...

    Walley picked on 3rd Round

We are going to miss Walley! At times I was disappointed that he didn't play up to his potential consistently, I think I forgot to appreciate how above average he actually was.

5 biggest questions Gophers football must answer this summer

Your right the defense loses: LB Lindenberg, DE's Striggow and Joyner, S Henderson, and both corner's: Walley and Robinson. They return preseason Sports illustrated and PFF all American Koi Perich at safety, and another soph Safety in K Brown who was overshadowed but almost as impressive. LB...

5 biggest questions Gophers football must answer this summer

Losing WR's: D. Jackson and Spencer, and going from a 5th yr QB to a first time starting sophmore, there is going to be some regression in the passing game, not for sure, but I assume Vegas would say something like 90% likely (I'm a gambler). Some of those transfer wr's have good resume's and...

5 biggest questions Gophers football must answer this summer

I would add the running game, which was nationally significant in PJ's time at the U, was rather pedestrian last year. If they can return to some of that dominance, it will really help both a young QB and the defense!

    Niko’s Report Card Thus Far!!

While at CSU, Niko only lost 1 or two rotation players to the transfer portal per year. They are a mid major with less NIL than us. I am excited that every player he has brought in has multiple years remaining. Will 1-3 possibly move on, maybe? Will 8 of them, NO- unless he is a disaster...

Gophers land a big man....... 6' 10" Nehemiah Turner

I would add Reynold, Willis, Asuma, Omot all have good length and athleticism for their positions, to be above average defenders. It's been a long time since we have had more than 1 or 2 on the entire team.

    High praise for Perich

Safeties rarely go that high. I guess a lot depends on how he does on offense and how fast a 40 he runs. If he runs under 4.55, maybe? He played at 190-195 last year, Im guessing he will be 205 as a JR.

Reusse: Report cards are now available for all coaches and managers (Grade C Niko Medved, Gophers basketball)

Niko's class can definitely shoot free throws at a way higher clip! Mid major players start our as either undersized, unathletic for their position, or under the radar. Patterson, Cochran, Odukale, and Mitchell had only 1 year left. Patterson was unathletic, but scrappy. I Can't rate Cochran...
